Former Employee – worked at Earls

ProsA very good training program regarding wine and food knowledge
Flexible shedule, able to request time off
Little prior training needed

ConsManagers seem to always pin point negatives with no recognition of the good you did
Shifts can be as short as 2 hours
Only allowed to serve 5 tables maximum at once

Advice to Senior ManagementBring a more positive atmosphere and be less condescending . Hire more support staff to allow servers to handle more tables.

Vancouver, BC (Canada)

Current Employee – been working at Earls

ProsGood way to make money while at school, and the people you work with are fun, as long as they aren't in management.

ConsManagement will screw you in a heartbeat to get ahead.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey wouldn't read it anyways, so there's no point in giving them any advice.

Former Employee – worked at Earls

ProsUsually a fun environment. They train you very well so if you would like to serve at a other, more challenging restaurants, this is a good place to begin.

ConsPoor communication and a lot of favortism ocurring (for instance, managment dating servers, who then coincidentally get best shifts/sections)

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter communication in server performance is necessary for server growth. Rely less on server appearance and more on customer service ability.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
