    Pros

For the most part, a lot of people that work here is nice.

    Cons

The biggest problem here is politics and it starts with upper management. There are a lot of nice people in the bank, but upper management doesn't care about its people if you're not in the department generating sales. They will not hesitate to lay off someone or an entire department. Unlike other banks, its systems, procedures and policies are not really established. It's constantly changing. Training is not on par with other banks.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to realize that its people (not just the sales unit) are its biggest and most important assets. Please listen to the people that actually do the job at their levels and don't make knee jerk decisions without fully researching the entire situation. People are always fearful that they have no job security and this makes for poor morale. Invest more in training and borrow some practices from other banks that has made them successful.

    Pros

    Cons

terrible management, gives nothing but asks for everything. internal friction makes work, which supposedly should be a positive experience, go to the negative one

see your employees as your most important assets

    Pros

Company works hard to show you that your hard work is appreciated. More personable, more flexible with work schedule compare to other big banks. Niche market is the bank's competitive advantage.

    Cons

Not as structure. I would like to see more trainings being provided to the employees. A lot of different systems to juggle with.

    Advice to Management

Speed and simplicity are the keys.

    Pros

You work with a team of people who you can be very close to and you casually talk about most things with your co-workers, manager..just anyone at the branch. You learn how to deal with different kind of people, multitask, work under pressure. Where I work at, there's no strict rules with what you can't do...like going on social network sites. GREAT HEALTH BENEFIT.

    Cons

Salary sucks for the load of work you have to do, hard to move up within the company, culture is basically very Chinese and 1-sided, a lot of them speak broken English, if you're Chinese and you know how to talk is the probably the best way to move up the ladder.

    Advice to Management

Learn to get feedbacks from tellers and take actions to make changes for the better of the branch and the team.

  9. Poor treatment to employee and even middle management. Success is nor praised nor rewarded. No on gets promoted.

    Pros

-"Bridge" East and West markets at low cost for non-english speaking Chinese.
    Successful in niche market.

    -Standard benefits:
Medical, eye, dental healthcare. Paid federal holidays. 5 days vacation, more with promotion. 401k, ~$3k company stock collectible a couple years if your are still with the company.

    -Experience:
Exposure to more responsibilities than a teller.

    Cons

    -No commission:
No commission no incentive. Incentive through fear, not rewards. ie: CSRs are required to submit referrals for employee quarterly reviews but prospects are not used.

    -Unrealistic goals:
ie: more than double deposit amount within a year.

-Unacceptable IT (High Risk) (Much repetitive/redundant manual paperwork):
Computers freeze frequently, transaction may be unbalanced with no way for reversal other than a documented force balance by accounting. No check scanners and money scanners at each station. Customer's electronic information and signatures are incomplete.

    -No security against criminals:
no bulletproof glass, no security guards. EWB branch locations have been robbed countless times.

    -HR:
Understaffed at 2 employees and few assistants to sort rampant office politics.
They protect the corporation's interests, not yours.

    -Harassment:
Much blaming, fighting words, favoritism, and distrust.

    -Mediocre training:
Coworkers do not teach, Branch support is hit or miss, electronic procedures are outdated. Google/investopedia guidelines and government regulations on your own time.

    -Little growth opportunity:
    Rarely promote from within.
