    Pros

Home town. Great name recognition. Lots of potential. Nice people with whom to work.

    Cons

CEO is a mess. He is very impressed with himself and seems to disregard opinions that aren't his. He isn't committed to the Company. He doesn't even live in Rochester. I don think he has ever managed, or led, anything that is tough as this is. Weak communicator, jumps from place to place. I had to leave.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to create a vision that is linked to reality. You aren't going to beat HP at their game when they are entrenched and have 50x your resources. Stop telling stories of your past. They are irrelevant to our situation today, and stop jumping from one thing to the other without accomplishing anything. I really have to wonder, where did they find this guy?

    Pros

Still paying well for those still employed

    Cons

With profit in the red for several quarter, even after coming out Chap. 11, most people are concerned of being laid off soon.

    Advice to Management

Management is concerned for their own jobs, and little information is given out on the future of everyone's jobs.

    Pros

Work-Life balance is a plus. Depending on the manager, there are opportunities to work remotely and in this day and age of technology, working remotely is a viable option that many companies haven't embraced yet.

    Cons

What was once the film giant and the main employer for Rochester NY is now just a shell of what it once was. Poor management and a lack of vision for the future has left the company struggling to survive and too many former employees looking for work. There is very little job security as most of my colleagues are looking for other opportunities or waiting for the hammer to come down.

    Pros

Cutting edge image-enhancement software, I was allowed freedom to manage my own projects from a superb project mgr. & was supported by my department mgr.

    Cons

Clueless Rochester upper mgmt. froze wages & hiring, only cared about their film core business & treated medical imaging as a corporate colony for exploitation. Employee stock purchasing was denied, & all levels or communication was hampered.

    Advice to Management

Being undersold by Fuji film created corporate-wide losses that cost you your medical imaging line of business.

    Pros

Employees were tops! The employees I had the privilege to work with we're absolutely terrific. Their ideas to better the company were exceptional.

    Cons

Nobody listened to employees. Not only did Sr mgmt have their own agenda, the local sr. mgmt had their own agenda. Sr. mgmt positions in Roch and Dur were based on what can I get for me, how much power can I get. It was so sad to see a company basically destroyed based on the antics of senior mgmt. Lower mgmt levels lived under constant duress by having to succumb to sr mgmt desires. Say something against sr mgmt you were black balled or termed. I have never experienced such hostility in any work environment. When a mgr started finally speaking up that individual was released along with the entire support staff under the guise of company downsizing. So many good, faithful employees were impacted. Unfortunately the new company absorbed the bad eggs and they continue to fester. The new mgmt needs to go undercover and see how not only company employees are treated but even the contract workers.

    Advice to Management

Speak with lower tier company and contract employees. You will have to do it anonymously or the contract workers will be terminated immediately. It is a little harder to term company employees but it will be done. Guaranteed.

    Pros

An opportunity for networking. Gain experience of a business case that should be avoided at all costs in your next opportunity.

    Cons

Antiquated thinking. Arrogant long time engineering based employees. Lack of marketplace understanding. Myopic vision. Titanic sized organizational roadblocks. Hidden agendas among key executive management.

    Advice to Management

Resign and let the newly birthed small company determine its own fate.

    Pros

Health insurance, your peers, exposure to the way large companies operate, great start and good starting salary for an entry level out-of-college single rookie who wants to be a road warrior

    Cons

Absolutely no work/family balance if the job requires any travel. Old golden watch managerial culture, giving managers incentives. Carrot on a stick methodology making promises to lower ranking employees just to get the job at hand accomplished but never making on their promises. Get the highest salary at negotiations because you will never see a raise or any type of increase. Management has this mentality that non-managers steal from the company, and create policies to nickel and dime and micromanage their staff in order to get their annual managerial bonus incentive. Take the job offer going in with your eyes wide open otherwise you will be disappointed. Use this company as an opportunity in your career advancements but never do anything for them that is not policy or a unwritten promise, you will be disappointed.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! At this rate, you will follow Wang computers relatively soon.
