    Pros

I have worked for for Eaton for more than 10 years. Excellent long term company. Competitive compensation. Typical challenges of highly matrix organization. Outstanding commitment to ethics and ability to leverage a unified global business system.

    Cons

I have had a variety of positions in Eaton, mostly in supply chain. It can be difficult to transition between businesses.

    Pros

Benefits are really good. Company Laptop, paid phone bill, 401k, insurance coverage, HSA, and lots of fun outings.

    Cons

You definitely know that you are salary and work a lot more than 45 - 50 hours a week. Lot of late nights and weekends. Think that's why we have a laptop.

I have been working at Eaton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits including 401k and pension. Highly competitive company in highly competitive market.

    Cons

Like many companies, the bottom line is what matters, so some other things sometimes get lost. Personal growth and promotions largely determined by you immediate supervisor(s).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The more you empower people, the more you will get out of them. Even if the bottom line numbers matter the most, in order to succeed many times over, you need employees that want to work for you and really feel wanted by the company.

I have been working at Eaton full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

work/life balance are optimal; office culture is generally positive and accepts varying perspectives, compensation is fair for marketplace.

    Cons

Minorities are preferred and promoted over non-minorities, especially when choosing between internal and external candidates. This is unfortunate when internal minority DOES NOT have the skillset for the position. But hey, it looks good on paper to have minorities in upper-level positions, even if it negatively affects the department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

fight to hire the right person, even if not minority.

I have been working at Eaton full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good Benefits, but could be better. Good Training.

    Cons

My company was part of a buyout(Powerware). Eaton's idea of running the business is to run it in the ground. They do this with poor management that's idea of increasing revenue is through cutting employees salary and commission.

Needs to implement a Roth 401K.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your field engineers are the key to your business. Quit treating them as they are your enemies.
