I have been working at Eaton full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Yes it pays good, yes benefits are awesome, yes they're very easy on you.

    Cons

I have been here for a year and 4 months full time. it started out as a decent job. but the more i continued to work there everybody's true identity popped out. the higher up people will tell you one thing and do the exact opposite. they will also say your not working the weekend and come to you Friday 10 minutes before quitting time and say its a manditory weekend to work. they post too many jobs for the month hoping they can get them shipped and hardly ever reach their goal for the month. the supervisors are awful for the most part. they don't care for they're employees at all. you can do the above and beyond and everyone just wants more more more!!!!

I have been working at Eaton full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay mostly but the benefits as a whole aren't bad, safety is treated as important but mismanaged until it becomes tedious BS

    Cons

No advancement, managers play favorites, rules are unevenly enforced, office employees treated well but manufacturing employees are treated like property, poor Leadership and overall clueless management, They will change your job title responsibilities or pay without any notice, Safety is tactics are for show, Mandatory overtime is essential to their business plan be prepared to work 10 hr days 7 days a week, Workers are treated like children, No Training you are expected to just understand how they do stuff without any real instruction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Enforce the rules equally, Treat employees with respect, Hire more people and open more shifts so you don't have to force people to work 60+ hour weeks, Train your employees, EMPLOYEES ARE NOT PROPERTY, fair advancement and job placement, if you hire someone for a job then need to change them to another job you should give them choices and give them time to consider them not force them where you want them even when they turned that job down

I worked at Eaton full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Decent pay, and okay benefits.

    Cons

    1. Favoritism by managers
    2. Discrimination based on race at Jackson, Michigan facility especially
    3. Management and HR would cook up untrue allegations just to get you fired because of budget reasons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't believe that employees are disgruntled when they complain about their direct managers, the people you put in charge are doing unethical things and messing up people's lives without remorse.

    I worked at Eaton

    Pros

Can't think of anything real positive about the organization-my experience had been negative from first initial contact - from senior management on down. Shortsighted short term goals-as long as the month end numbers come in as projected; everything's fine-not too much retribution.

    Cons

Leadership lacking (mngrs. do not understand their markets). Profit motivated at all costs-regardless of repercussions. Terrible customer service and relationships

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

readdress priorities-desperately needs long term thinking (more than a month).

There are no Pros. I have to use 20 words but i'm just going to finish by saying. THERE ARE NO REASONS TO WORK FOR EATON

    Cons

    Everything.

Managers are spineless and are only out for themselves

Pay is not what it says on this site, it is about 10k lower

Corporate structure is favored against progression through the company

Unrealistic expectations and complete lack of understanding of the job from management

Managers who have it in their title but don't actually manage anything

People placed in positions because they have higher friends as opposed to actually able to do the job

    Crap atmosphere within the office

Sales driven engineering, as opposed to engineering driven sales

Specials are more common than actual products

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quit

Make life easier for people who actually work by doing your job

Make it at least possible to progress and not have to lick the sweetcorn from your crack to do so

I have been working at Eaton full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    401K with match, tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Brain Washed, Unionized thinking, inefficiently run, culture encourages employee sense of entitlement and lack of maturity, Very low employee appreciation, absolutely no appreciation/opportunities for new hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the union, Challenge employees to prove/improve themselves, improve employee satisfaction, utilize talent within the plant before looking outward, operate based on competence not seniority, increase vertical and horizontal communication, implement shadow/apprentice program before people retire and take their knowledge with them, cross-train to prevent that problem.
