    Pros

You will never be bored and there is always something to do. You stay satisfied by the pace and the money, once you get established. If you have the drive you can make a ton of money. Supportive teams. Extensive training. Young environment. Softball league of +10 Echo teams over the summer with great environment to interact.

    Cons

Long hours; 6:30am till loads get covered (5:30pm or later). Working two Saturdays a quarter. Long hours come with the business. Having a life outside of work is a struggle.

High stress environment where time, money, and growth are tested daily.

Competing for carriers with fellow employees.

    Advice to Management

With a booming company that hires many people, new hires can feel instantly vulnerable and like a number. Don't do that.

    Pros

Great environment and I think that the small incentives are a good way to reward hard work. I may be a little more optimistic than others but I enjoy a majority of the work I do here at Echo, once commission gets closer it seems it may be paying off.
If you can motivate yourself I believe this would be a great place for you to start.

    Cons

Commission seems harder to get to that first told. Also cold calling isn't fun, but if you are going into a sales job chances are you are going to cold call. You just have to make the best of it and know if you work hard it will pay off.

Doesn't seem like there is room to grow your career unless it is in sales.

    Advice to Management

More consistency on following up with tasks would be appreciated.

    Pros

The company is growing leaps and bounds, it has a fun, fast pace feel.

    Cons

Due to the fast growth we struggle to keep up with the growing work load.

    Advice to Management

Try to staff before there is an urgent need in a department.

  6. The Dallas Branch is a family, and while Echo is a large corporation, this branch makes you feel right at home.

    Pros

Management truly cares about the success of their personnel in this branch. Even if you are struggling, if you seek help, you will find someone (whether it be a peer or a supervisor/manager) that is willing to help. If you put in the work, you WILL be rewarded. The Dallas branch exemplifies the "work hard play hard" mentality very well.

    Cons

You have to adopt, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" mentality when trying to get answers from corporate in Chicago. The job is truly a grind when starting out, and can be fairly stressful.

    Advice to Management

Consistent feedback provided to sales reps. There are campaigns for monthly reviews, call reviews, pipeline reviews, but they are not consistent. If the feedback operates like clock-work, then your sales reps will grow.

    Pros

Echo truly values their employees and does everything they can to make sure they have a good experience here. Frequent free meals from supervisors for doing what they ask of you, beer on Fridays, and a lot of team work that is actually helpful. The branch manager is seriously the nicest, most loving person I have yet to work for. I have stayed at this job pretty much for him and all he does for us. The office is extremely laid back, which is really awesome.

    Cons

The job itself is really frustrating. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to hit commission. Echo sets you up for success though, they give you everything you might need (and more) to do well. The job is rewarding at times when you hit goals. Training is long and boring at times. Calling people all day can get frustrating too.

    Advice to Management

    I love the management

Fun and friendly environment. Everyone is really supportive of each other. It looks like there are good opportunities for growth and development. It's a young crowd and a good place to start a sales career.

    Cons

It can be very frustrating. I wasn't 100% prepared when I hit the floor after training. There are still a few things I struggle with.

    Pros

Fun and energetic company. Young crowd. They really care about their employees.

    Cons

Pay is low to start out. It can take up to 1 or 2 years before you start to make commission because they are monthly goals for sales which is a very difficult goal. Quarterly or yearly goals are much easier to get commission.

    Advice to Management

There has to be an easier route to gain commission or something else that motivates me to stick around and keep selling.

if you work hard and stick with it, good things will come. great people. great atmosphere. days fly by. it will teach you tons of skills. work with people in various industries large and small which will help for future interviews anywhere.

    Cons

takes a while and hard work to get to commission. holidays and taking days off is kind of hard because everyone has own book.

    Advice to Management

larger base, or more perks for when you are starting

    Pros

young workforce with similar interests. kickball team on thursdays, softball team on tuesdays, beer fridays and happy hours regularly. management has expectations and stands by them but let's you handle your business how you choose. i have been here 10 months and am going to hit commission this month

    Cons

it's a sales job where you have to work hard and mostly find your own leads. first six months is heavy cold calling but now i am doing mainly customer management with less calls. putting in more than 40 hours is necessary to getting ahead.

    Advice to Management

some more advanced training would be helpful but other than that, job has been what i expected and overall good.
