I have been working at Ecolab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good base salary and if you hustle you can add another 20k or so to your annual income. Working from home is nice to.

    Cons

They hire salesmen and do not tell the new hires about all the mechanical diagnosing and repairs that are involved. Hiring managers tell you that it is 85% sales 15% mechanical. That is a lie they use to get you in the door. Its more like 50% sales and 50% mechanical repairs and service, but once you learn the repair side it is worth it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay in touch with your feet on the street....aka your bottom of the totem pole employees.

I worked at Ecolab full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great job if you like working alone, owning your territory and making good money. Company vehicle was perk and first level management was outstanding.

    Cons

Travel can get excessive at times. Sometimes lofty expectations caused issues between sales and service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a ride with your techinicians in the field. Spend a week with them during an installation or a normal PM trip. Choose one that not in the haven of the twin cities.

I have been working at Ecolab full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The fact that they pay for everything: from providing a vehicle, corporate credit card, gas card, cell phone bill, mobile hot spot, tools, training, clothing, shoes, and excellent meals when traveling.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be very difficult at times because of being on-call 24hrs M-F and some weekends. Upsetting a customer will get to upper management very quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Being on-call 24hrs M-F sucks!!
