    Pros

Senior management is professional and client focused. The firm invests in its staff. Great clients.

    Cons

Like all agencies work life balance can be tough but you don't work in an agency environment for a cushy life. You go because you get incredible experience with blue chip clients. Edelman has that.

    Pros

The best talent and the best clients. Opportunity to learn a lot of facets and best practices of the PR business. Excellent perks and benefits.

    Cons

Hours can be long and unpredictable. Switch groups, accounts, etc. or risk being pigeonholed. The transition from traditional PR to what Richard Edelman calls "communication marketing" is uncertain and frustrating at times, though I think that's unavoidable.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to try new things too, but sometimes it feels like we're too expensive to be allowed to take risks.

    Pros

Some of the best benefits that any company has to offer. Cutting edge work done by some of the most deeply talented people in the business anywhere.

    Cons

To me it feels like a company that has grown a bit too fast for it's infrastructure to be able to support it. It takes a lot of time to be able to navigate the waters but once you do it's worth it. Patience and persistance pays off but it comes at a price, which is little work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

It's time to evaluate you managers. Not everyone is cut out to be a manager, which isn't to say that they can't be great at supervising some processes or projects - just not spectacular at managing people.

    Pros

Smart, creative and hard-working people with varying backgrounds and personal experiences. Opportunities are available to you if you're willing to step up to the plate and make the case for your ideas. I've stayed because I've always had the opportunity to work on something new and interesting....didn't have to go elsewhere to grow my skills.

    Cons

The office is large and you have to work hard - or be given the right opportunity - to get to know others outside your sector/department. Also, obtaining a reasonable work-life balance tends to be an issue (depending the assignment), but I'm fairly certain that's inherent to competitive agency work vs. an Edelman-specific problem.

    Pros

I work with smart, dependable and strategic thinkers everyday. I feel supported by my team members and that my managers and senior leaders are invested in helping me grow my career here.

    Cons

Work/life balance is very hard, but that happens at many agencies. My team members try to at least make it more enjoyable by staying late together so no one is suffering alone.

Great company culture and attitude. Managerial staff is very open and welcoming, as well as communicative with staff.

    Cons

Pay is mediocre, despite hours worked. I don't feel that my salary reflects my worth or credentials.

    Pros

As an intern, I worked with many different clients. The staff is creative with many diverse backgrounds. There are many great employee benefits, including mixers, happy hours, snacks around the office, and career training. There are a variety of opportunities to apply different skill sets here, so there is always new and interesting work to be done. Excellent experience in traditional and social media communications.

    Cons

The job is quite demanding and does not lend itself to a great work-life balance. Many folks burn out quickly. Also, the pay initially does not meet the expectations of the job. Lower-level employees must dig their heels in for several years before salary begins to match the job.

    Advice to Management

Continue investing in your hires and do not burn them out!
