    Pros

Smart people, great clients, opportunity to win big assignments. Solid benefits, flexibility, good reputation and pay that does meet at least the median for the position.

    Cons

Politics at the senior level and shifting senior management in the West. At the senior level there are few from West Coast who get any additional US responsibilities. At the EVP level, unless you are okay to hang, there isn't much up from here.

    Advice to Management

Its time to take a hard look at the ridiculously bad diversity at the agency and look beyond NY and Chicago for the most senior agency positions.

Great benefits and culture and the chance to work with some of the smartest people in the industry.

    Cons

Disadvantage for junior-employees when it comes to salary.

    Pros

There is a good work life balance at Edelman. You really can carve out a career path for yourself depending on your interests.

    Cons

Some times, I feel a bit underpaid compared to the work i could similarly be executing at a larger company (in-house).

    Pros

Great environment, flexible work schedule (WFH not unusual if you need to do it), decent pay vs. other entry-level positions at NYC firms

    Cons

Not stellar pay compared to some firms, size of office (800+ people) makes advancement opps very static; no battlefield promotions here

    Pros

Good benefits Global access to communications industry and clients

    Cons

Too much internal reorganization Minimal career growth for administrative roles Minimal perks for junior staff

    Advice to Management

Focus more attention on providing enough local IT support for each office, especially for offices with staff larger than 50 employees. Make more administrative staffing hires to accurately support the number of senior executives requiring assistance in their day-to-day. Establish some sort of staff appreciation or employee of the month program for all levels of staff to improve culture and promote employee retention.

    Pros

Learn from bright, driven individuals Great team environment Hands-on, dive deep into client accounts Strong leadership Looks good on your resume

    Cons

Seems to be a little uptight compared to other PR firms - a lot more corporate. Could be a more fun culture

    Advice to Management

Talk to strong interns early on about possible employment so you don't lose them to other companies

    Pros

Great people to work with, amazing connections, top-notch clients. Managers are there to support you in your growth and will be with you every step of the way.

    Cons

There are some slow days and sometimes managers are not clear in what they want. You'll have to figure things out on your own and may have to redo projects.

    Advice to Management

    More team building practices.

    I worked at Edelman full-time

    Pros

Great team for certain projects, very driven atmosphere. Some clients great to work for, others not so much. All around though, positive experience

    Cons

This is a really large agency- lots of moving parts. If you're moving from client to client sometimes it's hard to keep track of all of the stakeholders- you have to stay on your toes

    Advice to Management

Consistency across teams would be helpful, but understand it might be tough because the agency is so big, which can also be positive

    Cons

Unclear administrative support, didn't know how to get help when I needed it

    Advice to Management

    Especially to interns: Mentor them!

    Pros

Senior management is professional and client focused. The firm invests in its staff. Great clients.

    Cons

Like all agencies work life balance can be tough but you don't work in an agency environment for a cushy life. You go because you get incredible experience with blue chip clients. Edelman has that.
