Current Employee – been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for less than a year
Pros – Very smart co-workers to learn from
Company prides itself in being top-notch, interns are treated well and exposed to many learning experiences
University Relations sets up good events for interns
The goal of the company is to create devices that work FOR patients, not as cost driven
Cons – Lack of direction
Spent much time learning about medical devices, not much working with them
Look for an extension if you are only there for 3 months
Advice to Senior Management – Have interns sit in every meeting, include them in emails. As long as it isn't proprietary, it will give the intern a better idea of cross-department interaction.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Leadership really cares about patients. Long term thinkers, senior management has been in place and doesn't rotate so you are not getting radical changes of direction every two years like other places. Nice campus, good pay and benefits, lots of smart people.
Cons – You have to be committed which often means long hours. If it is just a job, you may not fit in.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay the course, keep the culture while the company grows.

Current Employee – been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Excellent talent, a large percentage of fellow engineers are extremely competent. Well-established culture of recruiting and developing entry-level engineers from top schools results in a significant pool of young and eager talent. Great opportunities for growth, hard work is well-recognized. Exciting new technologies and industry-leading innovation. Ample opportunities to share in the success of the stock price.
Cons – Relatively long hours are expected when nearing major goals, but nothing crazy. Goals are set quite aggressively, making the aforementioned time crunch unavoidable. Significant differences in culture between business units. Relationship-oriented culture can be a pro or a con, depending on your personality.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep investing in young talent.

Former Employee – worked at Edwards Lifesciences as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Great company to work for, especially in the R&D department. Some of the best co-workers I've had as well.
Cons – Didn't have a formalized intern development program like I've seen at other companies, but that is perhaps more related to being in Utah away from headquarters.

Current Employee – been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Edwards Lifesciences offers a competitive salary with great health insurance and bonus programs. They also support employees through a wellness program that emphasizes financial, nutritional, and physical wellness. They offer a wide range of positions ranging from hourly production and documentation associates to director-level and above. Edwards Lifesciences is also focused on making products with the patient in mind, and this is mentioned in most employee meetings. This focus helps everyone see the big picture of the work they do.
Cons – There are few downsides to working at Edwards Lifesciences. One of the main downsides that you'll find at other companies as well is their focus of resources. Certain departments can afford holiday parties at luxury hotels while others make do with pot luck meals. Certain areas receive high praise while others who do work that is just as good don't receive the same recognition. This is something you'll find in any company, though.
