    Pros

Great benefits package, and serve a great product.

    Cons

Managers are required to work a ridiculous amount of hours. At hire managers are given the quality of life speech which is total fantasy. Plan on at least 70 hours a week. If your store is well staffed senior management will pull employees to other stores to help them out; hence the managers that staff their stores, and run them well are punished for doing so, and end up working these ridiculous hours anyway.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a business, and like all businesses you have to make money, but at what point to do stop abusing store management for the almighty share holders.

    Pros

The people (some of them), otherwise, I cannot think of any pros.

    Cons

Company has really gone down hill in the last several years. Dysfunctional and disorganized from the top to the bottom. Ineffective leaders who only focus on cost reduction, poor communication from leadership and between departments, reactive response to issues that arise rather than being proactive and planning ahead, widespread favoritism, little to no career development or advancement opportunity unless you know the right people, high turnover both at the corporate office and in the field due to poor/negative culture and unrealistic expectations, no real vision or focus that is long-term, pay and benefits are mediocre to poor (no 401K match). Anyone looking to go to Einstein's should think twice about it unless you absolutely need a job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Find leaders who are accountable, visionary, and focused on a long-term strategy rather than short-term growth
-Focus on people - this will help solve many of the companies issues
-Stop changing direction every other day, find a strategy and stick with it
-Stop trying to be something to every type of consumer; focus on core business
-Shift focus from things like marketing to the restaurants/operations

I have been working at Einstein Bros. Bagels full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some people are nice. Company used to be a good place to work. Still manage to produce good tasting bagels.

    Cons

There is so much corruption and gossip that its impossible to work. The Executive team needs to be fired. Company doesn't care and the interim CEO and Executive team are disconnected, slimy and untrustworthly. They have distroyed what used to be a good company. They promote incompetent people and really don't care about the customers in the stores or the employees in the stores. It's all about how much money they all can make.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the Company to someone who cares and can actually run the business and treat the employees properly.

    Cons

Worked there for 2 yrs with 2 different mangers and they both were awful but the 2nd manager really ruin that place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get qualified mangers that actually like the general public.

    Pros

Free stuff at end of day

    Cons

Never see general managers over stressed assistants and over worked assistants do all the work. Management makes hourly employees work off the o'clock on their day off because of poor staffing.Management spy's on employes on cameras all day. Places people in stores over 60 miles from where they live for very pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If management were in the the store then they would know what's really going on.

I have been working at Einstein Bros. Bagels full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The location was close to home. That's it!

    Cons

Corporate Management is incompetent. Had a meeting where the manager pointed out that a senior person had bullied another person and now they were both bullying the new person.

    Seriously?

This is the mentality of these morons. They actually promoted someone who was training people to bully other people. This was in the corporate office.

HR wouldn't know customer service if they saw it. Probably why the store management and the service is so terrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of HR and change the corporate office leadership. HR is full of people that encourage bullying and lousy customer service.

You can't build a company when people being hired by HR are incompetent. You also can't bring in high quality people and then expect them to stay under terrible managers.

Why on earth would you get rid of the CEO and replace him with a board member. Insanity, means doing the same thing and expecting the same result.
