EDS provided the challenges and experiences needed to move forward in my career.

    Systems Engineer (Current Employee)
    Troy, MI

ProsThe atmosphere is professional but relaxed, allowing a person to meet the requirements to be successful

ConsThere was a lot of turn around in personal at one time, at one point there as not enough and then it was over crowded.

Advice to Senior Managementthe manager allows the employees to take part in decision-making: therefore everything is agreed by the majority. The communication is extensive in both directions (from employees to leaders and vice-versa). This style can be particularly useful when complex decisions need to be made that require a range of specialist skills: for example, when a new ICT system needs to be put in place, and the upper management of the business is computer-illiterate. From the overall business's point of view, job satisfaction and quality of work will improve. However, the decision-making process is severely slowed down, and the need of a consensus may avoid taking the 'best' decision for the

    ConsNo cost of living

Didn't Recognize How Good We Had it.

    Database Administrator (Former Employee)
    Overland Park, KS

ProsInteresting Work Environment, Excellent Support Teams from the Systems & Hardware Groups. Team Feeling of accomplishments.

ConsVery difficult to get promoted without leaving current account, Permanent Salary takes a long time to build to industry standards due to temporary yearly bonus possibility.

Advice to Senior ManagementSince EDS became a non entity America based employees are treated as commodities to be tolerated at the least salary level they can be kept at.

    Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Plano, TX

ProsEDS is great if there is a family problem and you need assistance. There are many instances where the company has helped a team member through a crisis.

ConsExpectations that family will come second after work. Management has no problem with employees working nights, weekends, etc with no thought of the employees mental or physical health.

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen your eyes and plan better. Unahppy employees do not tend to perform well. Encouragement and appreciation goes a long way.

Lots of opportunity and lots of stress

    Director (Former Employee)
    Plano, TX

ProsEDS seem to invest heavily in technology, facilities, structured training and education. There was ample opportunity to move to new roles in the company.

ConsOften you get on a project that was setup for failure and then instead of adding resources to it they seem to just work people on the project to death.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to get the dead wood out of the company and look for people that are solid workers and help them have life/work balance.

Prosflexible work scedule. Decent benefits package

Conssalary is way below standard for IT jobs in this area. Negotiate high because you will not see a pay raise... Performance evaluation process is ridiculous and will not net a salary increase.

Advice to Senior Managementbetter communication and better pay for employees
