Pros – Friendly professional atmosphere, knowledgeable people

Cons – Specialize in outsourcing. A lot of great professionals were replaced by unprofessional stuff from India

Pros – In the early years, EDS was a great place to work.

Cons – Things started to go south when the company was spu off from GM. Local management was awful.

Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your employees. Take care of your employees.

Pros – EDS sounds good on your resume. Benefits are decent but not exceptional. Range of work possible and the locations you could work are large/

Cons – Pay is poor. Many roles are hourly. Payroll make so many errors (like being paid $52 for 2 weeks) that you wonder if the company is trying to balance its books by not paying workers on time.

Cons – Compensation for your skill set is inadequate

Advice to Senior Management – Be open to employees regarding how much of bonus is allocated to each business group, employees on the floor usually hear of bonuses but they do not actually get any.

Pros – You had a flexible work schedule and the environment was clean to work in. There was also an onsight cafeteria which is definitely a plus.

Cons – Management seemed clueless at times as to the actual job you were doing. It was amazing that these people were going to evaluate your performance and yet had no experience as to the job you were doing. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

Advice to Senior Management – The lack of communication was definitely a big problem. Also, there seemed to be a lack of standardization for processing procedures. There needs to be a training program other than on the job training fly by the seat of your pants training.

Cons – has low visibility in advancing one's career path in EDS, now is HP consulting division

Pros – Excellent health insurance options, credit union membership

Cons – There was an awful lot of gossip regarding many of the females in the department while I was at EDS. It seemed as if almost every woman was rumored to be fast until she could somehow prove otherwise. I remember one woman who joined from another department said to me, "You've probably heard a lot of rumors about me." I replied, "I make up my own mind about people." She was grateful for that.

Cons – Continual Downsizing made security non-existent

Pros – Probably, training opportunities were better than most companies. My expereince with job reviews is that it was a waste of my time.

Cons – Unrealistic demands on working environment. EDS management would sign contracts that a sane person would run away from. Maybe with HP management things may change.

Advice to Senior Management – EDS/HPmanagement should sit down and work with the technicians that are expected to do the job. This would give EDS/HP management a realistic idea if the terms of the contract are doable.
