    flexible work scedule. Decent benefits package

    Cons

    salary is way below standard for IT jobs in this area. Negotiate high because you will not see a pay raise... Performance evaluation process is ridiculous and will not net a salary increase.

    It was a place where employees were recognized and rewarded...happy people made for happy customers and a viable, profitable business

    Cons

    it isn't that way any more (especially since acquisition by HP). Bottom line is all that matters. Customer and people thrown out the window

    Go back to the grassroots wisdoms. Taking care of your people (and consequently your business and customer) never goes out of style. Look at the big picture and not just the next quarter

    Opportunity for International Experience was a great plus.

    Cons

    One of the biggest concerns I had working at EDS was the fear of Layoff. EDS was known for doing workforce reductions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    One of the things I would have offered if asked was that the Leaders at EDS try to move leaders slated for layoff into roles they may have had prior experience.

    Work life balance is good. Several highly experienced personnel who are happy to help with your growth.

    Cons

    EDS was overtaken by HP and was never the same again. Salaries got slashed across the board, experienced employees got laid off, customer lost their confidence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you're slashing people's salaries, don't give your selves bonuses of millions of dollars. Don't cut cost at the expense of the quality you provide to the customer. Don't cut costs from programs that make you money. Stop micro-managing. Get your priorities in order. Don't promote incompetent people to management positions.

    Was a professional environment with dedication to excellent work and dedicated customer service.
    Pay was relatively competitive. Changes in management too frequent.

    Cons

    HP has changed the game for the worse. Sloppy work in communications. Would not say there's much room for personal growth. You might advance if you're good at ignoring people's needs, quality work and can cut costs and make a profit. Find it a cold, mechanical place to work.

    Get ready to lose your workforce if economy turns.

    treated people as a number, not a person. unable to leave current position for other internal opportunities.

    Unit I worked didn't have any management on-site...pretty much had to build relationship with client customers...Job was cyclically exciting. A lot of flexible time

    Cons

    Management is not proacvtive to help you with career path or new opportunities, pretty much on your own.

    Find ways to give current employees career paths if they which to get into other business segments.

    Good place to get experience

    Cons

    raise freeze for about 2 years.
    promotion freeze.
    Now as part of HP: No more pension,lower 401k contribution, pay cuts, higher out of pocket for worse health plan options. Told under HP raises are not as common and bonuses are more common. Not good since we know who is getting the big bonuses.

    They do not pay that well, but there is plenty of opportunity to move around and try new things. Also international opportunities.

    Cons

    They don't pay well. I would not recommend them on that alone, but if you are desperate, go for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try harder to retain talent. Don't let the good ones go and try to support educational opportunties more. That will help keep them.
