Current Employee – been working at Eli Lilly full-time for more than a year
Pros – Very work life balanced, great pay, great people and great products. Very respected by customers
Cons – Massive layoffs. It will be interesting to see if the company can still hold to its values

Current Employee – been working at Eli Lilly full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Lilly values are shared broadly and I believe truly believed by a majority of management. Just look at the way the company handled divestment of assets and redundancies. You will always have disgruntled employees who blame others. however, with Lilly being the 4th company I have worked for, the grass is indeed greener here.
Cons – The culture can be too nice and lack transparency at times
Advice to Senior Management – Be honest and transparent with your direct reports. People can take bad news, even the "exemplary" performers that are heroes in their own minds. Allowing someone to believe they are top performers when they are only meeting expectations won't help the organization long term.

Current Employee – been working at Eli Lilly full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good salary and beneifits. Very transparent communicators. Employees are very proactive about resolving problems. Employees are very customer service oriented with both internal and external business partners.
Cons – Lilly lost Zyprexa patent and many employees lost their jobs in 2011. Lilly is thinning out the employee population again in 2013 due to loss of Cymbalta patent and Evista. No company workforce reduction plan is in place for 2013. It's currently up to each organization to find ways to cut expenses. I've lost 3 out of 4 job assignments in the past 5 years.
