I love the fact that the company vision has remained steady since it was founded.

Make-up Artist (Current Employee)
Birmingham, AL

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden

ProsThe products are amazing, and the company is sound! I'm in love with Prevage. I really believe in it. And Double Density Mascara is the best ever made.

ConsThe pay could be better, and advancement isn't always possible, but then again, no one ever really leaves the company once they start working for Arden.

Advice to Senior ManagementHonestly, freelance artists aren't paid the same rate as other companies. Arden offers about 5 to 7 dollars less than other companies to artists. And I personally believe that if Arden would expand the freelance budget, it would create more excitement and interest in the brand. Everyone knows the skincares is second to none, but not as many see Arden as an artistry line, and that needs to change. Besides, the artists always sell the skincare anyway. :)

Not as corporate considering its size

Marketing Coordinator (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time for more than a year

ProsYou can interact with all levels in the company and make an impact even at a lower level.

ConsThey are slow to promote their employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementElizabeth Arden needs to focus on promoting faster to keep its talent, rather than constantly hiring outside of the company. I also recommend giving more vacation and personal days so that employees don't burn out.

Flexible, rewarding at times, a challange with so much competition!

Beauty Advisor (Current Employee)
Edmonton, AB (Canada)

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden

ProsEveryday is different. You are given the opportunity to meet and help new people everyday. You get to learn a lot about cosmetics and skin care. A gratis fr free product is given every few months. Rewarding.

ConsIf you are working as a "demo" , or on contract as a freelancer, you are not always guaranteed a certain amount of hours, although it is flexible work for a mother with children or a full time student for example.

It can be challenging as well as frustrating to meet sales targets with so much competition from other beauty lines and outlets.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone.

Would not recommend

Retail Executive (Current Employee)

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGreat benefits, you can learn a lot about business here.

ConsNo home work life balance. No respect for personal time. 15 hour days even when 9 months pregnant. Not a good company for people with families. There is not a lot of room for advancement for field employees. Company is growing but at the detriment to their loyal employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect your employees and their personal time.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
