I have been working at EmCare full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling when enough physicians are on staff

    Cons

It has been said that administration is not very loyal to its physicians

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at EmCare full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work in Pensacola. Great people, great pay, room for advancement and recognition. Felt valued & like I had a voice in some decision making.

    Cons

Some office politics allowed for some dead weight employees to inexplicably stay on board & some playing of favorites. Work could be a bit monotonous.

I have been working at EmCare full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The company have good structure and support for physicians. And these support staff seem to have low turnover rate. I am still talking with the same people when I need help after two years.

    Cons

Health benefits are only available for full-time employees. I would like to commit to work for the company, but also wish to work half-time/part-time (not per-diem) instead of full-time. But half-time/part-time workers don't get to buy health benefits from the company. I am still with the company full-time bacause I like the company. However, I always look for other opportunities, only to seek an employer which would offer health insurance to half-time employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider offering health benefit to half-time physician employees. Just to speak for myself, I am willing to pay more premiums as a part-time employee so that I can avoid purchasing Obamacare insurance.

    Pros

The people are amazing! I've worked for this company over 12yrs. When other companies were laying off workers, EmCare hired more.

    Cons

    Pay raises aren't merit raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Utilize merit raises and maybe a bonus.

I have been working at EmCare part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a moonlighter part time for EMCare, Although they have gotten a bad rap for being an evil corporation, I found it quite painless to work for them. I worked shifts, they paid me money, reimbursed me for travel, the administrators didnt really put a huge number of demands on the doctors in terms of efficiency, ordering more tests. In fact, they incentivized the RVU payments so we were actually rewarded to do better documentation, not ordering more tests. They gave feedback on how to document, how to chart accurately to reflect services rendered, that was helpful.

    Cons

sometimes felt a bit bureaucratic when i would email a questions about stuff like travel arrangements, paychecks, etc. There are so many different people that handle things, it sometimes took a long time to get stuff done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think incentivizing best practices and documentation is def the way to get doctors to do things....just being totally honest. Otherwise I dont care and Im not going to do what you want me to. I didnt really see

    Pros

Love the people I work with...or have worked with in the past. I have personally experienced a lot of career growth here.

    Cons

Company is in constant growth and change, which is usually a good thing, my company bought another company and now all of the previous company's mangament was fired, and the new company replaced them. There are few people left from the previous team left. Pay is below competive

    I worked at EmCare

    Pros

Other employess are very friendly. Some of the supervisors went out of their way to help you if you needed it. Very understanding of family issues.

    Cons

Towards the end, it got really hard to get any time off. Supervisors were inconsistent in directions given to staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees are a source of wealth. They can make or break a company. Treat them with respect and you will get the same in return. A lot of talented people are over looked for advancement.
