Excellent company to further your career with.

Nurse (Current Employee)

I have been working at Emeritus Senior Living full-time for more than a year

ProsEmeritus fosters a family atmosphere with employees and residents, providing a good salary and benefits package for licensed employees with the opportunity for advancement if you desire.

ConsAs with any nursing job, work can be a stressful environment. Ancillary staff are often under overworked and underpaid. As with any large cooperation, strict adherence to company guidelines sometimes makes your job too restrictive.

Definitely melting away the aquired callus of Corporate life

Analytics (Current Employee)

I have been working at Emeritus Senior Living full-time for less than a year

ProsI have represented Emeritus for just over two months. During this time, I have gained greater insight and respect into the "activities of daily living" that our beautifully seasoned society members live. Becoming aware of both their challenges and lifestyle has allowed me to absorb a greater understanding into the outstanding work our Community Family members provide day in and day out. Without a doubt they are truely committed to making sure that Seniors continue their life journey with dignity and respect, not to mention making it fun and sociable. Emeritus is slowly melting away the years of acquired corporate callus growth thus allowing me to once again sharpen my career sword and feel good about coming to work because it DOES make a difference in my life and of course the lifes of our wonderful residents! If you truely care about feeling good about what you do to make the lifes of others better, Emeritus is the place for you!

ConsParking can be a bit tough in the area

Advice to Senior ManagementAs we continue to grow as a corporation, NEVER loose sight of the "home town" feel and committment to enriching the lives of our Seniors. It is a value that I have seen dulled in past Corporate life and no matter how much it is glossed over, eventually it does hurt bottom line. The respect for others and genuine care that I currently experience in my workplace is one of the joys that allows me to continue to bring on my best and sharpen that dulled sword of putting up the good fight (one for all!) ensuring that we embrace each and every Senior in our care as we walk along side their journey!

Exciting and rewarding

Senior Housekeeper (Current Employee)
Pikesville, MD

I have been working at Emeritus Senior Living full-time for less than a year

ProsI enjoy my position at Emeritus Senior Living as a Senior Housekeeper. I started this job in October 2012 and I came into this facility as a dedicated worker. I Love all of the residents and I know all of them by name. I look forward to coming to work everyday. I give 100% of my ability and I work very hard to keep our facility cllean.

ConsSome of the cons that I have enountered since I have been employed with Emeritus is that everyone doesn't treat the residents nicely and I get upset about that.

I have been working at Emeritus Senior Living

Pros-Great company culture includes deck parties (drinks provided), weekly free raffles for sport tickets
-Building is near Seattle Center, on the water.
-Relatively easy to change departments after the 2nd year.
-Employee stock purchase program, 15% discount.

Cons-Poor parking options.
-Difficult to advance to more "white collar" positions.
-Not allowed to discuss wages(cause for termination), meaning same job but very different pay within some departments.
