    Pros

New named account model allows for focus on really building relationships. Progressive POD groupings for full cycle support. Industry has massive potential

    Cons

As with any disruptive sale it can be hard to get in front of customers.

    Advice to Management

Stop over hiring in sales. Fewer really solid sales reps is better than tons of mediocre. Train and reward the best to stay.

    Pros

Huge market - uncapped earnings, full support system to help sales team (finally!)

    Cons

sales cycle is fairly long and the industry was new to me- you really need to have brain power to sell here!

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in sales support- training, sales ops, contracts, etc- its already making it way easier for me to focus on actually SELLING!

    Pros

EnerNOC is not an easy place to work; a lot is expected of people. The upside is that the majority of those who work here are highly competent, capable, and driven. I have found that everyone needs to bring their best if they are to make an impact in this environment. While it's not easy, those who choose to be a part of this team will learn a ton and get better. In many ways it's a Masters in a job.

    Cons

It's less of a con and more of a reality check. As a growing firm, not everything is fully baked. People need to be comfortable moving forward in unclear circumstances. EnerNOC is not a process monster- people need to figure things out on their own and create their own change if things are broken. Ultimately, that's a good thing, but for many that can be a true con. It's up to the person.

    Advice to Management

Don't bite off too much at once. Growth is great, but it takes time to integrate everything.

    Pros

    - Amazing caliber of intelligent and motivated employees throughout the organization.
    - A growing industry that presents great earnings opportunity.
    - Culture is one of 'work hard, play hard'.

    Cons

Tremendous product growth, both organic and through acquisition, has evolved the product and created some flux in how to sell it. Some people see this as opportunity, others as confusion.

    Advice to Management

Keep the company culture strong while growing the company into the unequivocal industry leader.

    Pros

Extremely bright team members and a casual, but focused, atmosphere- "We take our jobs but not ourselves seriously" rings true. Great for motivated individuals who want to gain experience and hold a lot of responsibility. It's truly a rewarding, exciting place to work, and employees are enthusiastic and optimistic about the company's future. Company is doing some really amazing things to change the way the world views and uses energy.

    Cons

A new strategic direction, many acquisitions, and a growing customer base will surely test your ability to be comfortable with ambiguity! But that's the name of the game these days with younger, growing tech/software companies!

    Pros

The people at the company who I have interacted with are outstanding. They have managed to hire friendly, outgoing, and driven people. The building and location are also huge pros. The Boston Headquarters is right on the waterfront and there are tons of things to do in the area. I don't have a car in the city and it is really easy to get around on public transportation. From what I've seen, they also provide a lot of opportunities to advance your career.

    Cons

I enjoy the fast paced environment, but you definitely need to be prepared for a rapidly changing environment!

    Pros

    Boston office - Engineering

EnerNOC is an awesome place to work. EnerNOC brings a great work environment with great benefits. Most of the engineering department is 35 and younger so it is a great youthful place to work and grow. EnerNOC has yearly Christmas parties (this year at the aquarium in Boston), catered food every day etc. The management style and organization of engineering is great. It is very easy to talk to your managers and even your managers manager. We are growing incredibly fast, acquiring numerous companies per year. This is the place to work!

    Cons

Not much. The pay is good and the benefits are great. Wish they had a gym membership to be honest.
