I worked at Eni (more than an year)

    Pros

Bonus system is set up ok. Pay is ok just ok.

    Cons

Pay needs to be more competitive with other operators. Favoritism among Italians. Much workload stress. Management just passes the buck so to speak when it comes time go get work done. Passing work off to much lower management level people. Heatlh insurance is HORRID. Health insurance company takes forever to pay doctors who in return send you all kinds of nasty letters and bills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    better pay better benefits.

Great attention to benefits employes' welfare. Good collegues.

    Cons

Low attention to young employes growth.
Salaries are hight for expats, but for on site employes are not comparable with the market. ( except for managers).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR department should give more attention to employes' needs and Request . Just asking them about Their career's needs would be enought!

I have been working at Eni full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

High salaries for expats, low workload
The salary level for expat employees I believe is above media, plus other allowances and bonuses.
The work in the end is not stressfull.

    Cons

Highly bureaucratic company with inefficient business processes, the working approach of 20 years ago, lack of willing to collaborate. In addition, non transparent promotion system, small space for growth and development, especially for young people. Disproportional distribution of work in time and between people.

    Pros

Many opportunities for exciting work in countries and projects all around the world. There is a very diverse workforce and you will get to know many different styles of working.

    Cons

Need the right internal connections others you will not progress far; the most important things are exchanged in Italian - if you know the language you will have access to the critical infos.

I have been working at Eni full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Eni is a big company with lots of opportunities, the founder Enrico Mattei was a legendary man and his ideas are still in place (not as bold as before). if you have something to offer, company will make sure to appreciate it. Family, is like the ace of spades. you can play that card whenever you are in bad condition.

    Cons

There are a lot of connections inside! luckily most of the people that know each other are good to work with (even though if they are not the best at what they do, professionally wise) but there are also exceptions that can make your life miserable at work. the environment could be terribly stressful! we have demanding top management ;)with rapid changes, Don't forget Nationality matters! if you are Italian you are okay but any other nationality could face strange difficulties. HR function in general is really poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

During the last 10 years of working i realized that the sky is blue everywhere you go! my advice for the management would be to add a psychological test and try to get the most adaptive\flexible people in work place! during high pressure those are the ones who get things done.
