Great company with lots of opportunities. The work is fast paced and there is a large variety of experience to gain.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI feel fortunate that everyone I have worked closely with has been very supportive, uplifting, and willing to teach.

ConsYour experience with the company depends on the department you are in. For me, the people I work with make the job enjoyable.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Environmental

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe pay is good, however, they will expect a lot in return. Enterprise also supports additional training and allows the employees to attend seminars, even if it is out of town. Being a big company you are provided with, or have access to the latest software and hardware.

ConsUnderstaffed. Competence is lacking, especially with the new hires.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers in corporate, the ones calling the shots haven't a clue how things work in the real world. They also don't have any experience in the field which becomes painfully obvious by some of the programs that have been implemented.

Excellent opportunity to learn new things but a bit difficult to move up within company.

Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsBenefits, salary is okay, convenient hours, family oriented environment offering flexibility, convenient accessibility to and from parking garage to building. Opportunity to show talents and demonstrate capabilities.

ConsNot everyone is a team player, there are a few employees who refuse to help others within their group and supervisors/managers refuse to address because employee has been with company for a long time.

Advice to Senior ManagementAcknowledge the talents of those within your department and consider them for positions in your department they might be a better fit for. Employees want to feel acknowledged and appreciated, any pay raise that comes with a new position is greatly appreciated too.

    Great company

Clerical Assistant (Current Employee) Houston, TX

Proswilling to work with you to help you move up on career path, positive, encouraging

Consintimidating at times, high-pressure, very fast-paced, loud at times, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide positive feedback so it's not "no news is good news"

    EDRP Year Three

Engineering Development Rotational Program - Yr II (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsThe program has grown significantly and there has been more executive support of the rotational program as a whole. The third year focuses on Project Management and as a third year EDRP I have a project portfolio of around $9MM. This leads me to believe that they trust me with the level of responsibility required to manage small to medium projects on my own.

ConsThere is no clear picture about what transpires at the end of the three year program and how the transition will occur and the level of personal "say" in the permanent position. There tends to be some shortfalls in the mentoring capabilities across the board. There is no formal review process to assess your progress against others in the program.

Advice to Senior ManagementFix the "official database - PODS" so that people can use and believe the data stored in there. This provides a huge obstacle to multiple departments and people across the company.

Provide a better interface between the commercial responsibilities and the engineered solution so that people can deliver on cost and schedule.

For the most part working at enterprise was a good experience.

    Tankerman (Current Employee) Houma, LA

ProsWhen I worked at Enterprise I felt they were always fair with the pay and how they treated employees. Some employees would gripe about the company but I never had any complaints with the company. They are good about getting you to the boat and getting you off the boat when it is crew change time.

ConsThey don't always hire the best people for the job

Advice to Senior ManagementEnterprise could take a look at some of there hiring practices. Seems like sometimes they would hire someone if they were breathing. Also take a look at the rehire, no rehire list it seems like it depends on what kind of mood HR is in or if they like you or dislike you.

Glad to be part of the Enterprise Products family

Senior Systems Specialist (Current Employee) Houston, TX

Pros-Salary and benefits are above average.
-One of the best retirement packages around. If you contribute 6% towards 401K, the company matches 100% plus everyone gets at least 4-6% in a separate retirements plan. The potential is 10-12% company match.
    -Great co-workers.
    -Half day Fridays.
    -Downtown location is perfect
-Paid transportation if you take the bus downtown

Cons-Flat organization with very little room to move up and get promoted.
-My department has team building events that the employees pay out of their pockets. The cost is low, however, I've never had to pay for team building events at my previous jobs
-The company seems to be cheap at time. Might be why they are doing so well.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work upper management.

Overall a good place to considering it's a medium size local company.

    Analyst (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsA very competent senior management team which leads the company in a manner that provides assurance of long term stability.

ConsBeing a medium size local company it does not have the benefits and programs like larger companies to promote a great place to work or better worklife balance.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
