I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Enterprise offers a lot of opportunity and it is up to you whether or not you are willing to reach your full potential. The experience you encounter will challenge you and it will make you question your work ethic. People either loved it or hated it, it's really up to you if you want to make the best out of it.
    - Pay is decent for an internship
    - They reward hard work
    - Supportive peers
    - Quality sales and marketing training
    - Move up in the company at your own pace

    Cons

    - Balancing work and personal life was very hard
    - Some people were unethical when it came to selling

Basically, if you want to move high up in the company you really need to sacrifice your life for a good 5-10 years before you start making serious bank.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow a 9 hour day with 1 hour lunch break instead of the 12 hour day with 1 hour lunch... it really takes a toll on people and that's probably why the turnover is so high.

At the branches, you have no work/life balance. Corporate is where you want to be. You can get promoted fairly quickly.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The training program is extremely well structured. You learn how to run your own business from the moment you step on board. However, you are constantly understaffed. It's a great "first job" for people just out of college. You constantly get invited to company events (bowling, happy hours, etc.) which is very intriguing, and sometimes can make up for the consistent pay that is around $40k year to start.

    Cons

There's a low work/life balance. You are constantly understaffed at the branches. If you get promoted to another department (fleet management, business rental sales, car sales, accounting) there's a MUCH better work/life balance. The pay is good, but you don't have time to enjoy your money with fun stuff because you end up working about 60 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company promotes only from within, which is a great perk for new employees because current management has "been there, done that" with whatever the new employees are doing (cleaning cars, checking in customers, promoting insurance, etc.).
