I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Very young and enthusiastic employees. I further developed my sales skills and customer service skills. I learned what I do not want to do for the rest of my life. I guess that is what internships are for.

    Cons

Extremely long hours, Have to wash cars in a suit, Have to deal with extremely angry customers, Have to try and sell protection products on every customer.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great upward movement into management positions.

    Rewarding work.

Gives you the chance to prove yourself everyday...puts you in a management position to see how you will do.

    Cons

LONG HOURS...I would normally work 60-70 hours a week which can be easy being single, but being married I had to make many sacrifices with time with my wife.

Many branches require you to work Saturdays and Sundays (Many times I would work 9-10 days in a row before I had a day off.)

If you have a college degree that's great, but don't intend to use what you learned (to a certain degree.) I'm an operations major but Enterprise wanted to teach me all their processes and not utilize what I already knew.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace ambiguity. Listen to your employee's about using different systems, just because something is different doesn't make it bad...

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

good work atmosphere, camaraderie, and a huge emphasis on employee promotion from within. There is a huge focus on creating employee development through a family-like business that is more positive than anything else.

    Cons

over 40 hour work week, typically ranges from 50-60 hours. For the pay at the beginning, it is a difficult thing to do. Upward movement is something totally dependent on how your work ethic is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more focused on keeping your employees happy, and focus on creating a good work-life balance with yourself and others.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great programs growing their employees in the ways of the business. Once a month celebrations for high sales, growing the business, family picnics for the daily rental employees etc. A lot of work whether in sales, business management or fleet.

    Cons

Management can tweak company policy at will. Low pay until obtaining the title of "Manager" behind your name. Other companies pay 30-40% more for similiar entry level positions requiring a degree.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company values: The environment created by managment flows downward. Your experience whether good or bad is based on how management treats their immediate subordinate. They set the tone for your experience.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great benefits and quick acceleration in the company, never boring, you really get trained and groomed to run your own business and it is family owned, so decisions are not made by shareholders.

    Cons

Long hours, leadership varies upon your location, customers can be extremely difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More structured sales training at first, I felt like I was more tossed into sales with training along the way, which I did eventually learn however was frustrating in the beginning.
