Great place to become exposed to the asset management industry

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThe company presents itself as a comfortable place to work, and is a good stepping stone for one looking to find a career in asset management. The people who you work side by side with are generally knowledgeable and there is a high level of camaraderie among those within each subset of the departments.

ConsThe pay is on the lower side for the industry and there is a serious disconnect between upper management & the rest of the company. The perception is that most of the individuals in decision-making positions are not interested in providing the necessary resources that are needed to provide the appropriate level of service to advisors & end clients. In short the level of work required to keep one's head above water is not sustainable at current staffing levels.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop making six figure salary hires that do not contribute to the organic growth of the company and focus on your pre-existing client base by providing higher levels of service possible thru lower level hires.

Good for beginners in Portfolio Management Industry

    Consultant (Current Employee) Thiruvananthapuram (India)

ProsIt has some great people and a good place to learn the fundamentals of Investment Management and Portfolio Management. Flexible work hours and located in heart of the city. Excellent "take home" pay structure and good PF component.

ConsAfter sometime the growth opportunities are limited and you may get stuck. Too much politics and ego. Lack of transparency and the appraisal process at best is ambiguous. No training or Employee learning programs. Process is given the least priority though it is improving

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Unrewarding place for a Techie.

Product Development (Former Employee) Thiruvananthapuram (India)

ProsWork load is less. Less stress on you. You are not micro managed. Flexible timings. Good work /Life balance.

ConsIf you are core Techie this place will disappoint you. The decade old technology and management practices will make sure you are having zero growth in your career. Be ready to stay at the same designation for years (more than 5 years). There is a downside of getting stuck at this company as you will no longer be wanted by other company's.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease start talking with people and try to understand them. Giving public holidays in the country as off days will be good.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
