    Pros

Great folks to work with. Good working environment.

    Cons

Seems there was some animosity created when I departed, although my work was very near completion and no offer to extend, budget constraints.

    Advice to Management

This organization is pre-eminent in its business space. Management though needs to be far more visible and interactive with staff.

    Pros

If self-motivated and assertive, there are opportunities for input and advancement. Good work/life balance for the most part. Seems to be working on areas of improvement. Constantly growing.

    Cons

Many areas of needed improvement still in progress but sorely needed. Pay calculations not clear to staff. Large workload. Inexperienced management. lack of training for new hires. Sink or swim in many cases.

    Pros

A growing dynamic company allowing for growth potential. The company grew exponentially while I was there which created more and more jobs that gave existing employees a chance to learn and do something new. Management was always great to work with, listened to you and mentored you.

    Cons

It's a sales focused business that continuously cut costs through lay-offs. restructuring and gradually moving operations depts to its office in India. The company tends to keep departments under staffed. Requesting more staff is a hard sell.

    Advice to Management

Keep depts well staffed so no one is overworked with their own workload or doubly burdened when others are sick or on vacation.

    Pros

If you're self motivated and value work life balance within the Financial Services sector Envestnet's the place to be.

    Cons

If you're looking for a company with a formal training program when you begin, this company simply isn't for you. Also the pay is slightly on the low side.

    Pros

Envestnet is a young company that has experienced quite a bit of growth during the last few years. As a result, there are many opportunities to grow with the company. If you are a team player, motivated, and not afraid to approach management you'll be treated as an asset. While there are some departments that hire externally, the vast majority of them in the Chicago office prefer to bring someone through the ranks.

    Cons

There isn't much of a focus on development within a position because the workload is high. Pay could be better and sometmies appears to vary wildly from person to person in the same department. The benefits leave something to be desired (PTO, 401k).

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve upon what you are doing, make the company a more attractive place to work for current employees, and don't be afraid to have honest discussions with employees about the work environment

    Pros

Great colleagues, colaborative work environment, great customers. You really do provide a value-added service to your customers, regardless of whether they're internal or external.

Pay is good, but rank and file employees really earn it.

The company knows when and how to let off steam!

    Cons

"Strategic" at Envestnet really means the flavor of the day and thus "strategy" can change on a moments notice. Often these changes are not seemingly well reasoned and almost never communicated effectively.

Rank and file employees often have to deliver on promises made by others who have no concept of the consequences of their promises. (why you earn every dime they will pay you)
