    Pros

I have a job at the moment.

    Cons

After years with this company they have managed to decrease pay, increase insurance and demote salary pay to hourly pay. We now have to punch a time clock that is micro-managed to the fullest extent. We are not able to move with out being spied upon from a dictating manager whom i am not sure how remains to keep the position. They say they are flexible with schedules and have gave you the tools to allow this however over the last year the flexibility has been removed little by little. It has been extremely frustrating to begin a career with this company to love and respect it and years later feel used and abused. This has turned into a typical corp. enviornement where you are just a number and the go green means make the employees hate it enough to leave so they can down size through attrition. I have come to believe they can careless if you are happy with this company. It is a political nightmare. FYI most are looking for new employement and will leave in a heartbeat if givin the right opportunity to run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am not sure how or why you choose you leaders however I have found that some are less then qualified. You may want to start doing more inhouse survey's of your manager/directors and cleaning house once you view the survey's. Your decisions to go green and overhaul the salary to hourly structure has cause horibble issues with these employees. Talk about a slap in the face! That is an ultimate demotion. Maybe you should do the same for yourself and see how that works out for you! You should take a lesson on treat others as you would like to be treated you may be able to create a more friendly enviornment. The only reason i can see that you would treat your employees so awful would be to lower your cost through "attrition". If this was your goal i believe you are exceeding your goal.

    Pros

Flexible schedule. President is a very smart guy who knows what talking about, but don't think he is aware of how sales team paid.

    Cons

Removed large amount of commission opportunity in new pay plans. Meetings about Meetings

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your sales people like standard sales people instead of stating new business will be added to your current book of business, doesn't give us any drive to sell when no extra money to really be earned. Stop having meetings about meetings.

Work for a small division (Ixi) new management is clueless. No understanding of the value proposition.

    Pros

Flexibility. Benefits are good. Older employees are keeping the place going. Pay day happens every two weeks. Not many pros other than getting paid.

    Cons

Lots of turnover. No new product development. High sales quotas relative to opportunity. Product offerings stale. President is full of himself and will not engage with employees. Morale is very low and nearly everyone is looking for new opportunity. Revenue is declining

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in this business or sell it. President has taken away the morale of this business.

    Pros

Great place for an internship to put on my resume and helps open up doors to another position.

The renovations are nice. Its a good thing they are *finally* doing something nice for the employees ... I guess they figured that they won't be able to attract ANY talent in the barren cubicle wasteland which they had beforehand.

    Cons

Controlling management which does not trust its employees. Complete lack of communication between EVERYONE. This place has a HUGE collaboration problem, both on a social level and a technical level. "Meritocracy" is another name for kissing butt and falling in line with your manager. EVERYTHING is a 'standard process', and if it isn't then it is turned into one. COMPLETE lack of innovation ... and its 100% management's fault. Ironically, they are looking at ways to "streamline innovation". I think that this is possible, just not at this company.

There is a huge "us versus them" culture here. Most employees seem too afraid to propose new ideas or lead any real change in fear of losing their job. 95% of the employees are married, have kids, and truly only want a job which provides stability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management knows what they have to do ... they have to change the culture. They've allowed so many teams to build huge fortresses in their technology to prevent them being removed, and these very people who are resistant to innovation, growth and change are absoluteness killing the company. How should they go about fixing the company? I'm not sure ... but it truly is in their best interest to figure it out.

    Pros

Some of the people are really great.

    Cons

Some of the people are absolutely horrible. You could be let go at any moment. The demands are unreasonable and the recognition for accomplishments is almost non-existent. Employees live under the fear that their jobs will be exported to the offshore office. Working under those conditions is stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management should really take a close look at middle management and non-managers who have responsibilities over others in the office. Get rid of the toxic people. Pay attention to the day-to-day experiences of the lowest men on the totem pole; they count, and their unhappiness in their jobs is as real as anyone else's, with the added insult that their pay is low and their jobs are not secure.
