I worked at Equifax full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to learn many systems with many clients

    Cons

Work environment not so hot. Quarterly lay offs a regular occurrence. Put fear into employees to work longer hours.

I have been working at Equifax full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent Benefits, unique experience, working with great clients, and a few great managers (if you're lucky enough to get one of them).

    Cons

Work site is poorly maintained, performance metrics conflict with client needs, system upgrades are rolled out poorly and ineffective middle managers are retained indefinitely.

    Advice to Management

Use 360 reviews to identify and train ASM's with poor leadership skills, not everything can be quantified into a spreadsheet. Support an Open Door Policy, Managers of locations need to realize just because they aren't hearing about an issue, it doesn't mean it's resolved. It could mean your subordinates have given up on talking to you and are looking for work elsewhere. Check SMART Goals for loopholes before rolling them out. Setting short sighted goals, based solely upon a number on a report is bad business. Reports are relatively easy to manipulate, some ASM's are quick to do this. It only complicates their subordinates jobs, putting pressure on them to maintain their ASM's façade. Understand that where there's smoke, there's fire. If a manager has subordinates complaining to the Ethics Hotline and an excessive amount of conflict, that manager is allowing unproductive behavior to flourish.

    Pros

Some of the employees are nice. Working remotely is good.

    Cons

They treat contractors like crap. The Talent Acquisition Team has poor leadership.

    Advice to Management

They need to hire strong leaders in their organization.

I have been working at Equifax full-time

    Pros

Some of the people are really great.

    Cons

Some of the people are absolutely horrible. You could be let go at any moment. The demands are unreasonable and the recognition for accomplishments is almost non-existent. Employees live under the fear that their jobs will be exported to the offshore office. Working under those conditions is stressful.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should really take a close look at middle management and non-managers who have responsibilities over others in the office. Get rid of the toxic people. Pay attention to the day-to-day experiences of the lowest men on the totem pole; they count, and their unhappiness in their jobs is as real as anyone else's, with the added insult that their pay is low and their jobs are not secure.

    I worked at Equifax full-time

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, nice coworkers, supportive management for the most part, good benefits, generous holidays and vacation time.

    Cons

Performance based on metrics unrelated to actual performance, a cover your ass culture that permeates the entire company, painfully dull training that you are forced to repeat, almost no opportunity for advancement at field offices, no follow through by management.

    Advice to Management

Do things when you say they will do them. Hire people who can form a complete sentence and capitalize the first letter of a sentence instead of nominating them for awards. Don't base performance on metrics that could not be less related to actual performance.

I have been working at Equifax full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great technology...stable company...technology center has a great location in the suburbs of Atlanta. Company working to improve work environment (current technology center is outdated, needs an overhaul).

    Cons

Flexible work hours are offered as a positive of the job - but not honored. Working parents beware. Environment is clique-y. Not yet operated as single entity - can have conflict within different organizations supporting the same end goal.

    Pros

Pay is fair Benefits are good

    Cons

If you work in IT then you will not have any free time. After you design a solution and the product is live in production, you will be responsible for operations. The TCS and IBM offshore teams cannot handle operations and managment will call you 24x7 365 days a week. There is alot of cronyism within Equifax management. Alot of the IT managers were friends from GE and Accenture.

    Advice to Management

HR please listen to your employees. Cronyism with the Equifax management is causing alot of good employees to walk out the door.
