This is the most disorganized and confusing company around

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsHaving the Equifax name on your resume'

ConsThere is absolutely no training. When it comes to promotions, it's know what you know...it's not even who you know - it's who likes you. Sharing of information is minimal. For a technology information company, it leaves a lot to be desired

Advice to Senior ManagementBet it together

    Director (Current Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsGood benefits. Company is financially stable. Good CEO. Company is growing revenue and earnings every year. Using latest technology. Good location.

ConsTraditional company. Big on outsourcing. Not a technology powerhouse.

Good Company but do no stay!

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsExcellent benefits, middle management good to balance work/family and coworkers are team oriented & warm.In my department ,training & learning was stressed.

ConsNot sure about senior leadership ability to instill dedication among rank & file. Small amount of favortism around.Opportunities to grow either in projects or training are evenly presented or exposed to workers, only the same favorites.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your people not just management. Lead by example and let other see it!

Advice to Senior ManagementGet focused on the corporate objectives, balance short term thinking with long term and create career paths (HR is completely inept)

    Equifax - Direct Marketing Solutions

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Denver, CO

ProsEquifax provides employees with a solid recognition of life-work balance. They provide reasonable compensation and very solid benefits to employees.

ConsThis organization remains surprisingly autocratic, despite repeated messaging regarding attempts to make management and decisionmaking processes more transparent. "Voice of the Employee" and "360 Feedback" are concepts which remain in their infancy stages within this organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementRick Smith is leading Equifax well regarding market positioning, strategic alignment and message. There has been some struggle with realizing benefits in a timely manner from a number of acquisitions over the last decade which needs acceleration. If there's anything for EFX really to concentrate on it's the HOW. Self recognition of how autocratic the organization remains is a good start. How employees are communicated with regarding business environment changes, their personal and business unit performance - these are great areas to improve on to leverage the best possible performance from the talent pool.

OK Place, but needs help in developing people

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsIf you are very good, you will stand out. But, little room for advancement, salaries are competitive. You can easily stay long at this company if you want to coast by.

ConsManagement does not allow you to do your job. Very micro-managed. Technology team is not top rate for a technology company.

Advice to Senior ManagementAct on your words to develop your people. Keep pay good, but get rid of those who don't add value, make managers make tough decisions

Not the place it use to be.

Senior Software Architect (Current Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsFlexible place to work. Availability to telecommute. Good pay and benefits.

ConsSenior management takes a short term view of things. They make decisions in a bubble without getting input from the people who actually have to do the work. Decisions are made and no differing opinion is tolerated. Too much outsourcing of work, senior management believes what we get from the outsourcing groups is great, while those of us in the trenches know that most of it is terrible and of low quality.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more in your workers who have the knowledge about how the business actually works. Take a more long term approach to retaining workers who have this knowledge.

    Not an innovative company

Sales (Current Employee) Saint Louis, MO

ProsStable company, good benefits, good work - life balance, some ability to work from home

ConsSlow to change, lack of technology investment, not honest with clients. Often there is a lack of communication with clients for important changes that happen to client services

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in technology to be best in class for security and disaster recovery

Equifax has lost a lot of credibility and accountability in their search for short term profitability

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Alpharetta, GA

    ProsGreat telecommuting benefits
    Very diversified group
    Employees extremely knowledgeable and intelligent

ConsToo many reorgs have created gaps of management and knowledge
    Senior management is very isolated
Senior management is focused on bottom line and short term financial gains

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention to customers and their needs
Look more to retaining experienced employees for longer term
Get rid of some of these mid level managers that have been brought in with the over the wall mentality

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
