Lots of Hot Shots, Strange Approach to Staffing

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe facilities and resources are great. There are a lot of opportunities to make things happen, and people are open to incorporating you on different projects.

ConsI work in marketing and the sense I get from my managers is that the whole management show is pretty open-ended. You can pretty much do what you think is good, and there is little coordination between marketing initiatives across teams/departments. It's like we are children who just got a bunch of play-doh (money) and the teacher went outside to smoke a cigarette.

Advice to Senior ManagementSet some boundaries, make the necessary changes.

average place to work, good pay

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe salary was average, but the company stock was doing well, so that makes the total compensation package attractive to many people.

ConsThis could be a very political environment. The career growth opportunity could be quite limited for most people unless you have the right connection.

Entry-level position that never became anything else other than that

    Technician (Former Employee)

ProsI enjoyed the facilities and fellow co-workers at Equinix. I feel the compensation was more than adequate for the position. Also enjoyed the scheduling and flexibility as far as taking time off when I needed to take classes and meet other obligations.

ConsI never found a way to turn an entry-level position into anything else other than that. I feel I had a lot of skills and certifications that could have benefited the company, but never found the opportunity to use those skills to move up within the organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at each employee as a resource, and not just as a person filling a particular need for the company at a particular time.
