I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    easy work for experienced PM

    Cons

No long term opportunities and short term is always uncertain

    I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Large company, great benefits, some great talent and leadership when recruitment is done right

    Cons

line managers involved with the largest CU are incompetent if it is not related to PM. The newest line manager is completely ineffective and lacks a sense of accountability. Horrible communication and management will pass the buck instead of stepping up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate current management structure for line managers and make adjustments to place managers that will address all aspects of their role and not pass the buck because they are inexperience or lack knowledge. Stop holding on to incompetent and unmotivated employees and go a better job at screening candidates withing network build so skilled talent has a chance in the company.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    1. Reasonably flexible hours
    2. Overall, the pressure level is lower than in many IT companies
    3. Every now and then you might be allowed to work remote

    Cons

You may like this place if:

1.You love to spend most of your waking hours either in a noisy "bullpen" in the hallway, or doubled-up in a room about the size of the bathroom and without windows
    2. You enjoy explaining to people that the grass is green and the sky is blue - over and over again
    3. You really love being kicked out (aka fired) without as much as a single word of explanation. Next day you would report to work - only to find out that you were fired the day before and nobody can tell you why

If the above sounds like your dream job - by all means. If not - there are few hundred companies in the vicinity, do yourself a favor and pick any of them instead.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The Plano Office is tastefully decorated and has a lake. And a pretty nice cafeteria.

    Cons

A culture of governance by fear.
    Exempt employees have no holidays.
    Americans are not welcome.
    Terrible product.
I was the most productive trainer in the training department. I literally averaged MORE than 40 hours a week on platform (and that doesn't count all of the other parts of the job, like travel). I also taught more courseware than anyone else.
Yet, I got canned, literally, two days after I told them I had cancer. Then they illegally cut off my health insurance. Then they broke the law by not sending me COBRA forms.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide

    Pros

Nice severance package to quiet you on the way out.
You'll never have to meet you manager since he doesn't leave his house and
has a paid for company vehicle.

    Cons

Bring your parachute for the expected layoff and save your pennies from your minimal pay increase.
I've never seen people get paid to sit at home any where or get promoted for duis or losing driver's licenses.
It's not what you know. It's who you know in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is nonexistent as well as monitoring of work being done. It's all quantity no quality.
There is so much dead weight in this company that the customer has to pay for that I doubt they will be around much longer.
