I worked at Eurofins Scientific full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice co-workers. It's a good entry level experience but is not somewhere to work in the long run. It's good on the resume and puts your for in the door for other places.

    Cons

Heavy micromanaging. Favoritism. Nepotism. Very low pay. Upper management will tell you to your face that you are replaceable, in case you have a work complaint. Very high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Trust and treat your employees like adults and lay off the micromanaging. Give your employees a competitive salary.

Useful for gaining laboratory experience before getting a properly paid job elsewhere.

    Pros

Friendly and sociable staff. Good sense of team spirit. Flexi-time is useful. Nice site location. The Christmas meal and summer barbecue are welcome events.

    Cons

Very poor pay and unfair conditions. Some staff get a bigger holiday allowance and are paid significantly more than others to do the same job, often to a lower standard. No opportunities for professional or career development: Eurofins almost never promote internally, always hiring externally and never consider using their own employees abilities and skills. High staff turnover due to dissatisfaction with the unfair pay and working conditions. No pay increase for three years yet there has been a lot of money spent on managers and their expenses.

    Advice to Management

Make the pay and working conditions fairer for laboratory staff - it is demoralising to have wildly differing pay levels for doing the same job. Give current staff opportunities to progress their careers within the company.

    Pros

As described by the first reviewer- Friendly, helpful and experienced staff make Eurofins a good place to learn in pleasant, semi rural surroundings.

    Cons

The disparity between the pay rates of longer serving staff and management bonuses versus the poor pay for newer members means they loose staff quickly.

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a place where you can gain a good set of skills in the laboratory. In my experience, I had great co-workers who were good to work with. The benefits are good if you are paying for yourself, only.

    Cons

One of the major reasons there is a high turnover rate is because of the poor pay. If you are thinking about paying for healthcare for your family or you and your spouse, the premiums are outrageous. Personally, I would have had to use at least 40% of my monthly income to pay for family coverage. I couldn't afford it. I have known some of the hardest working people who stuck around waiting and waiting for an increase in pay or a job promotion, only to be disappointed. From what I've seen, upper management will keep those who have worked there for a long time even when they treat newer employees like garbage.

    Advice to Management

If you gave your employees pay increases other than the standard cost of living increase, they would have hope for their jobs. I feel like all the hard work that I've done has simply gone unnoticed.

    Pros

Good starting point, colleagues are very kind and helpful, opportunity to learn various laboratory techniques and do overtime. That's about it.

    Cons

Horrible working hours (until 11pm), poor salary, very low morale within the team. No prospects for career development, the management are not flexible at all towards working hours, high turnover, literally everybody is looking for another job.

I have been working at Eurofins Scientific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunities to go and work in Europe region for a while, especially for freshers in their honeymoon phase of career. Fun activities on the floor and team outings New building, but an isolated location

    Cons

Its nothing but a large family business, where all decisions including hiring and firing people in India and elsewhere are taken by the two brothers in Belgium who own the company. The India management has no control on decisions taken from Europe, and India managers always face the brunt of bad decisions from there. No work life balance due to factory type punch in-punch out timings, and work timings are to coordinate with Europe timings. Regional favoritism exists Office location is very inconvenient. Its a long walk even for basic amenities like a restaurant. Salaries are not on par with competitors in almost all roles.

    Advice to Management

No point in advicing anything, because the owners will not listen, even if the management wants to bring changes
