    Pros

Stability of company. Above average healthcare benefits. Employee stock purchase plan.

    Cons

Under-qualified and out of touch district management, completely inept branch management, constrained product management, hubris born of 80's and 90's success, lack of accountability of employees put out to pasture, major resource constraints lead to burden of responsibility placed on a few key employees who experience extremely poor work/life balance, commoditized industry, lack of agility due to bureaucracy, company-wide nepotism problem, facility completely inadequate and likely not up to code.

    Advice to Management

Expeditors is at a critical point in its existence. This is a company that did very well in the globalization boom with US manufacturing outsourcing to China and various other geographies. Now that the company isn't consistently achieving exponential growth, many of its weaknesses are being exposed. Complacency, greed and lack of leadership of some middle management is extremely concerning.

    Pros

Good benefits - dental, medical, 401k (50% match up to 3k per year), and ESPP Job security

    Cons

Employees are not treated like assets Expectations aren't clearly communicated Atmosphere is very political (perception is reality) Employees aren't valued 60 hrs of poor work performance is valued more than 40 hrs of excellence. Complaining gets you places Management doesn't know how to properly evaluate talent Tons of arbitrary expectations

    Advice to Management

I give up trying to provide advice. It'll just be taken with sarcastic appreciation and forgotten.

    Pros

Good place for entry level position and to get your feet wet in the industry.

    Cons

Salary is ridiculously low. You could go to any other company and get paid far higher and be valued more. Not real room for growth unless you really push or are a "chosen one". College degree is not valued. Moral is very low and a depressing place to work.

    Advice to Management

The whole dynamic needs to change, pay and enviroment must change if you want to compete at all with other companies. If not you will lose top notch employees.

    Pros

Benefits are decent. The longer you work for the company, the longer the vacation.

    Cons

Employees are extremely over worked with minimum compensation. Pay is very low. Actually I must say EXTREMELY low. Employee turn over rate is very high.

    Advice to Management

Pay your hardworking employees more before they leave.

    Pros

    Health insurance. Not much else.

    Cons

You will go far if you want to work long days and relocate to various different states (or countries) within the network. In Expeditor's linqua, this is translated as "you've got what it takes". If this is not what you're willing to do, then you are considered lazy or lacking in motivation. Corporate has ZERO idea as to what goes on in the branch offices. There is a reason why Expeditors is extremely profitable every year - they pay their operational employees squat. If you're an operational employee in one of the branches, it's not at all unheard of to be working for the company for over 10 years and still not surpass the $35/$40,000 mark. Honestly, it's quite sad.

    Advice to Management

None - because they don't take advice.

    Cons

    Pros

You will gain experience that will help you gain employment with a company that cares about their employes. Besides that there are no pros.

    Cons

Claims to be a temp to hire company but will not hire you. They will even make you attend training classes about how to get hired on but in the end will only keep you as a temp. Pay is below industry standards. No chance of advancement. Will force you to work long hours. No benefits because you are only a temp. I have seen many good workers get fired not because they did something wrong but because the manager did not like them.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep people as temps, hire them on full-time.

    Pros

-Some people are nice -Their softwares are up to date -A good place to start off for ~1 years of experience into the field of logistics (would not recommend wasting time to stay longer)

    Cons

-Terrible trainings with people who do not care about what they are teaching but do it just to get in their yearly 52 hours requirement -Documentation all over the place -NO SALARY INCREASE with promotions. Moving from Level I to Level II means nothing financially. If you stay around for 2 years you'd be guaranteed a 'promotion' -Salary increase is at max ~3k/year in the beginning. Less so as you work there longer. The difference between a good and a bad analyst is ~3-5k. Worthless to work hard. Just do average work and you get the same salary increase. -Low moral -No team building -Expects analysts to be flexible with hours for international clients but salary not justified -Salaried pay but management watches the clock on in/out time. You get a talkin' to even if late by 10 minutes. Can never come in late but they expect you to put in extra hours often -Vacation is 10 days for year 1-2, 15 days for year 3-10. That's right, from year 3 to year 10, you only get 15 days of vacation. Paid time off does not exist even for family emergencies/injuries -Developers should avoid this company - You get paid in the 40k range starting off. That's pretty low for a development position in Seattle -People in supervisor positions that are not capable. They've got supervisors who lack basic social interaction skills and can't communicate to their employees. -No flextime

    Advice to Management

-Highly consider pay raise with promotion. Every other company at your level does it. -Take more time to work on how to bring up team spirit instead of watching the clock on when they come in. -Management wonders why they can't find good developers to hire? PAY THEM MORE like every other company.
