I have been working at Express Scripts

    Pros

Pay seems above average for the area.
Medical benefits have tanked recently (high premiums, high deductible, etc)
Dental and vision benefits are great
Retirement benefits are outstanding (1-1 match for first 6% in 401K, 100% vested immediately)
    5% discount on company stocks
Yearly bonuses are significant and vary depending on pay grade (low level employees don't get any)
    Parking is secure and abundant
    Easily accessed via I-70

    Cons

Tuition reimbursement hasn't increased in 4 years ($5500 a year)
Need more emphasis on career development
A lot of people complain of over work. You will work hard, and at the minimum, the full 40 hours a week
Recent inclusion of excessive contract workers has led to a lack of expert knowledge in the IT department

    Pros

Advancement is welcomed with this company. There are people there to help you achieve your goal.

    Cons

Numbers are a key concern here with this company, whether attendance, or how long on calls. If numbers are not good, you won't last there for too long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Coach, coach, coach. Everyone has potential, sometimes you have to dig it out of them.

I have been working at Express Scripts full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great co workers who are dedicated and care about doing a great job and keeping members happy. The benefits are great and working from home a huge plus!

    Cons

Getting upper management to listen to those in the trenches on the front line. We may be in the trenches at the bottom of the food chain but we know our jobs and need to be involved in true focus group sessions in which upper management can truly see how it's done. Anyone can manage a department or company but a smart executive will demonstrate a true desire to listen to those who do the job everyday and will value contributions of those on the front line to improve service to clients and their members. Happy employees will be loyal, work even harder!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and truly show them how much you appreciate them by listening to them and involve them in certain decision making processes. Show company wide that their contributions were used to improve efficiencies and service! Employee of the quarter nominees are usually higher level but why not recognize employees of the quarter at each site or let site management do at their level to give lower level personnel a chance to shine! Employee rewards program is nice and offers a great selection of items that are really rewarding but takes forever to get anywhere to earn enough points to redeem for anything.
