    Pros

Great place to work if you like to do procurement and have oracle experience. The salary was great the people were cool and it was a fun place to work at.

    Cons

Long days and you have to work on Mardi Gras which is crazy if you live in New Orleans. The belle chase location could use some upgades.

    Pros

Life-work balance, empowered employees, strong executive leadership, industry leader, overall benefits. Company performance and health is much improved under current CEO. Significant performance improvement noted within global manufacturing group with new talent over the past 4 years.

    Cons

Accountability and leadership lacking in several senior management roles. HR lacks systems, processes and tools to drive effective communication. Long-standing internal relationships at times block or limit upward mobility. Manufacturing highly exposed to market cycles. Pending company split and restructuring of US services and manufacturing enhances exposure and risk during current market down cycle.

    Advice to Management

More accountability needed at functional director and senior manager levels. Address "blockers" and favoritism in key positions and provide clear career-pathing and improved performance management programs to attract and retain top and emerging talent.

    Pros

Promotions are available to those who work hard. The company is growing, and is ever evolving, so there are plenty of chances to move up.

    Cons

Every organization has issues, none that can not be brought to light and worked out. This coming company is experiencing growing pains.

    Advice to Management

Pay special attention to your field service techs, we are the reason you have a job.

    Pros

Great staff. You can go as far as you can if you put for the effort and have some patience.

    Cons

Some of the managerial staff can be difficult to work with but nothing you can not overcome if you are a strong individual.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to your employees. Be willing to try new things even if upper management may not agree.

    Pros

Employees are generally high-quality and hard-working. Depending on your department, there may be room to grow. The company is now about seven years old and seems to be developing a more formal work culture.

    Cons

Some financial instability in the past and cost cutting seemed to lead to lower earning potential. Since Brad Childers took the helm, there has been a perceived increase in the income gap between the officers and everyone else. Upper management seems to be more focused on increasing earnings and cutting costs in the past--a good thing--but the culture may have suffered somewhat because of it.

    Advice to Management

More sharing by employees between departments would be beneficial. In any large organization, information can get lost between people, but Exterran is especially fragmented.
