    Pros

Great friends and people to work with. Challenging assignments. Long term career planning.

    Cons

Not enough females at work, technology is not valued and is seen more as a service.

    Pros

Friendly people who are more than willing to help - these are the best people in the industry. Also the pay is probably the highest you'll get from any oil and gas company.

    Cons

There is a lot of bureaucracy working for such a large company. Getting approval takes time.

    Advice to Management

I'm just an intern, so I don't think I have the experience to say much. Management was excellent for the most part.

    Pros

Six figure salary for a 6 yr engineer. Ton's of freedom in your career and loads of responsibility. If you like to travel, the sky is the limit, literally. Pension, 7% match 401k, great health insurance. JOB SECURITY!

    Cons

    Lot's of moves and travel.

    Advice to Management

    Set up headquarters in Austin.

    Pros

Very smart people and strong emphasis on integrity and safety. The company takes extremely good care of its employees and makes sure that its employees are comfortable both at work and at personal front.

    Cons

Like any big corporation has too much inertia. Hence its difficult to become the CEO in less than 30 years of career with the company.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring people at all levels rather than just promoting from within. I understand that promoting from within preserves the culture but then you lose out on great talent.

    Pros

Extremely well compensated. Only hires the best and brightest. Unlimited potential. Crushes the competition with brains and their wallet. Don't need a fancy degree to get ahead, just a willingness to do what is necessary. Employees of ExxonMobil are family, and will be treated as such. Majority of employees will retire millionaires.

    Cons

You will work. A lot. And you will think. A lot. You will most likely always feel like the dumbest person in the room. The best will do big things, the stragglers will slowly but surely fall out.

    Advice to Management

Improve the safety record continuously, keep a strong balance sheet, don't let office politics affect operations.
