Great coworkers as everyone is working towards the same goal, willing to help each other, flexible hours and management willing to work around people's schedules.

    Cons

Having to deal with customer after customer, top heavy as the best workers do the most work. Low pay compared to other jobs.

I worked at ExxonMobil as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, co-workers are very nice. Projects vary and are interesting. The position is what you make of it. New employees get straight down to work. You can always ask your co-workers in case you have any questions, there is in an open-door policy, where anyone can approach anyone else. All this in a very informal atmosphere where people call each other by their first names.

    Cons

Entry positions are tough to come by, with many employees coming in with substantial experience already.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop and maintain junior staff. This will breed loyalty and subject matter expertise, rather than only hiring from outside.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Working with smart people is the best benefit. Additionally, the company does not skimp on international cross functional team and traveling to international locations to work with global counterparts is a huge plus. The maternity leave is very generous versus other companies as is the flexibility with unpaid leave and returning part time for a period.

    Cons

No control / limited over your career as everything is done in secret and new positions can be foisted on you two days before you start them. Work life balance is scoffed at. Paternal leave is non existent and the gap makes female employees using the program look weaker. Moving from DC area to Houston.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make job moves more transparent and move towards allowing employees to bid on jobs

    Pros

Salary is great. Work days are different each day with new challenges. Flexible schedule as long as you are taking care of your business I think is a fair

    Cons

Many negative people that love talking about conspiracies and how others are unfairly getting promoted. Spend more time doing this than working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be transparent and give low performers the closer they so desperately need.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Stability in income. Great benefits. Good group of people to work with, mostly nice people. Risk averse, lot of layers of management makes sure that the project that is eventually done is a project that is worth doing.

    Cons

Large company that moves slowly. Lot of layers of management. Few people working and lot of people taking credit for their work. Painful to get projects done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the fat in middle management. Senior management has some really good ideas that if implemented would make this company even greater. The ideas eerily resemble what the working class level people want to do and think is great. However, the middle management acts as a shock absorber leaving it difficult for any change to happen.
