I have been working at F5 Networks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are so many pros to working at F5. I would say that the top of the list is the company culture is one of integrity, and one that values the employee as a human, not as a cog in the machine.
The Salary and benefits are amazing. I have full family health insurance that is 100% paid by F5. I do not have $ taken out of my check for the premium. Stock grants, ESPP, 401k matching, donation matching, and vacation time are at or above what I consider standard for the Tech industry. Did I mention "Beer Friday"?
The company is growing, and that means career opportunities are plentiful, F5 is very consciously protecting the company culture even though the company has doubled in size in less than five years. I've been at other companies where rapid growth destroyed the company culture.

    Cons

F5 is growing at a rapid pace and some of the backend systems have yet to be upgraded. But hey if the only real pain I have to experience is struggling with an antiquated system to request PTO then I'll deal with it.

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Best employee training I've seen anywhere
    you feel valued
given the opportunity to rise to your potential
    Good benefits
    Beer friday

    Cons

Once you've finished the intro training you won't have time to do the update training
update training is not as good as the intro training
    Current workload is crushing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not laying people off makes you able to feel like a nice company, and with the ammount of money you spend on training, that's understandable, but doing a better job of projecting and hiring to meet needs would go a long way to making F5 not just world class to work for, but make working in support a valid career rather than a stepping stone.

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, corporate culture, never a dull moment, unlimited learning opportunities

    Cons

We have a start up mentality that is not scaling to our swelling payroll
Our ambitions are wide and tall; resulting in product quality issues
New hires are not as skilled as "the olde guarde"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company values are excellent. Continue focus on increasing cross-enterprise collaboration. Consider not being quite so date driven in the product release cycle. Market early "beta" access with customers and reward customers with discounts.

    Pros

    great benefits
    Great team
    Very nice facilities
everything is done in order to improve the environment where you work in.

    Cons

Not happy with Pay, management not willing to budge on requests. It will be great if there was some consideration into what the employees are suggesting since they are doing it for the benefit of the company. There is a need to put more trust in employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen more to the little employees, they really want the company to grow more and succeed!

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good management team at home office and Regional management is strong on the sales side. Strong core technologies and good foundation to add other security and network elements that should make for easier cross sell and up sell. Good benefits and corporate culture.

    Cons

Overall marketing strategy is a bit muddled. Trying to be a security company without putting enough effort into that space to instantiate that claim despite the strength of the products (in addition to core abilities for its load balancers). Products are solid, but support on some of the core products are not where they should be for a company this mature. Sales growth, or desire to maintain it, causes changes in regional positions and inside sales efforts and focus is in need of fixing and overhaul. Pro services team is strong but understaffed and stretched. Channel program is good, but could use some tweaking on details.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of dead weight on the inside sales teams. Integrate acquired solutions more deftly and in half the time it takes to do so today (which is too long). Acquire or partner with some other solutions that open new doors for F5 and ones with some track record of success that only strengthen the security and management solutions thereof. Move "partnerships" with major vendors (ergo Cisco and VM) further and faster so execution in field is in synch (faster) with the story sales is asked to spin with current product sets.

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I've been working at F5 networks for about 4 years now as a software developer and conldn't be happier about it.

    Cons

There are occasional crunch times but what software job doesn't have crunch times? There are also periods of "feast and famine" in which sometimes there is little work to do, and others where there is tons.
