air traffic controller at National Airport.

Air Traffic Controller (Former Employee) Washington, DC

Prosaviation is wonderful....something new happens every day....you cannot make a mistake so every day
is perfect. Everyone respects the ATC and the job he does.

Consequipment breaks down much too often. The controller must maintain strict awareness 100% of the
    time while on duty.

FAA has stability and growth opportunities, but lacks in the area of bonus specific incentives like the private sector.

Computer Specialist (Current Employee) Oklahoma City, OK

ProsStability, work life balance and office culture.

ConsNo incentives for salary growth, stock options etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide incentives for growth and a more incentive based reward system which could at least somewhat try to match private sector.

A decent salary and job security

Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsTeamwork and a lot of training in OKC. Responsibilities of the job. What you do matters because lives depend on it. Job Security.

ConsLimited pay and raises compared to those working in the private sector.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring back steps or some pay increase that corresponds to the length of time an employee has been with the company. Reward the employee with raises for taking on more responsibilities, such as being trained in multiple systems. As of now there is no reason other than to be more helpful to my office to agree to train in additional Comm/NAV and ESU systems.
