I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great new direction with the help of Fiat.

    Cons

Project managers do not always know how to implement Fiat solutions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend the money to hire smarter people.

    Pros

Somewhat decent pay and benefits. Pretty good cafetia.

    Cons

The place is full of "family, whohaknows and union buddies". Management is totally useless (might explain the bad quality)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of lower level management and start over.

    Pros

Fiat should clean up this mess.

    Cons

I st interview I had to wait over 2 hours. HR acted as tour guide. Excessive OT drives results in poor product quality, and every employee dissatisfied. Needs to hire more people and reduce OT. Union vs non-union culture.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some really nice people that work here, pay is decent, and I like the paid time off between Christmas and New years.

    Cons

Management is totally inept and out of touch. It's virtually impossible to move around in the company unless they "know and like you". Performance appraisal process is a joke. Forced distribution using an antiquated 9 box methodology. You have some pretty big jerks in pretty high positions. The corporate culture needs to be redefined. The systems used there are a total joke. You will immediately go back to the 90s (or prior to). No one (read: management) is truly interested in operational efficiencies, it can be a lot of "paper pushing" or "busy work". Lots of time is being spent on things that don't really matter in the end, or broken processes that cannot be fixed. I wanted to work here because I WAS a huge fan of Chrysler products and after being here and seeing what junk they put in the cars these days....I probably will not buy another Chrysler product. I have worked here several years and can't even give the vehicle discounts that I get away....sad. Let's see how many years it takes for Fiat to drive Chrysler into the ground.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because someone is in a management position doesn't mean that they are trustworthy or good performers. Lots of managers are getting away with doing nothing (but taking credit for others work). There needs to be a culture change, invest in potential employees instead of playing the "good ol boys" game. Give employees a proper work-life balance. Expecting extra hours consistently with no pay is a ridiculous expectation, salaried or not. Try giving employees actual raises and get rid of the antiquated, forced distribution performance approval process.

    Pros

CTC is easily accessible from mist freeways.

    Cons

Old style management, all the dinosaurs and their thinking, actions and attitudes are alive and well in Powertrain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Intelligence has no color, women are more than objects. Get rid of the non-performing oppressive managers. Make quality and integrity apart of meritocracy instead of office politics.

    Pros

The pay is well but the expectations and hours are horrendous. Work is your life and that is what is expected of you.

    Cons

They do not follow their own guidelines. There is no loyalty and if you get stuck with a manager who does not like you then that person can make your life miserable and the company will not stick up for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the respect guidelines and follow them.

    Pros

Good experience to start a career. If you can make it here you can make it anywhere.

    Cons

By far the worst place to work on the planet as a supervisor. A supervisor has not backing what so ever. The inmates run the asylum and the supervisor get all the blame. The bastardization of Lean Manufacturing Principles and the ethos of "running the effing line" forces a culture of hiding and lying. Get yelled at on the radio every 4 seconds when the line goes down is the stuff of nightmares. Absolutely no training for supervisors they throw you to the wolves and if you know that you days are numbered as soon as you set foot in there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Train and retain talented supervisors.

    Pros

Great benefits. Excellent pay. Work as many hours as you want.

    Cons

Corporate goals, creed, and policies not followed at the plant level. Management talks a good talk but fails to follow through.
Supervisors are treated horribly. Lots of stress and management refuses to set goals that are even remotely within reach.
No ability to get rid of bad workers. UAW protects the bad workers and management won't back you up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your own corporate guidelines. Treat supervisors like potential managers of tomorrow not like disposable employees.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There are no Pros to working at this company except to have it on your resume for name recognition. This is a immoral and deceptive company.

    Cons

They do not care about employees. They moved a whole department's work location over 50 mile with no compensation.

Provides no way to accomplish goals because VP/senior management make goals with out concurrence of employees.

WCM is a joke as no money can be devoted to it.

    Worse company I've worked for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company ignores illegal and immoral practices. They were reported to the Business Practice Group and they still continue.

Performance appraisal process is a joke. Employees have little to no control of their outcome. And... the "beauty pageant" rating does not fairly rank employees. It's not objective.

VPs and senior management make costly mistake and they do not have to account for them. But the employees do.

The competition will excel as Chrysler continues it's ways.

    Cons

Trying to fit in there stupid click if you don`t fit in you don`t make it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think but can`t prove they have a thing about age because policy's to old and young to not the same
