Program Analyst (Current Employee) Silver Spring, MD

ProsCompelling public health mission; dynamic environment; large, diverse agency with multiple career paths; support for good work/life balance; support for telework.

ConsChallenging budget climate and funding model; difficult to access via public transportation; agency manages multiple and conflicting roles and stakeholders leading to contentious decisions. Space is also a significant challenge on the White Oak campus.

Consumer Safety Officer (Current Employee) Silver Spring, MD

Pros- mission of the agency is to protect the public health
    - not-for-profit
    - change to impact policy / make a difference
    - interesting work assignments
    - FDA experience is marketable, if you look to change careers down the road
    - federal government benefits
    - options available to work-at-home 1 or 2 days a week
