ProsYou'll learn a lot and the opportunity for exposure and hands on experience exceeds those top positions at big banks. You'll work with excellent analysts/strategists and learn all the while. The position is what you make out of it and if you love markets and are willing to learn, this is for you.

ConsPoor management, vision, direction, execution. Not only limited to DailyFX, but also other departments. Seems CEO only want to be surrounded by yes men, but this comes at the cost of (1) progress (2) team moral and (3) turnover rates. CEO should hire good leaders instead who actually have a vision and will lead a team rather than be micromanaged.

Great place to gain valuable international experience.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe entrepreneurial atmosphere at FXCM is great for junior employees looking for an organization that truly values meaningful contributions to the company and rewards them with more exciting and challenging responsibilities. There are virtually no limits to what bright, driven, dedicated individuals can do at FXCM because new opportunities are consistently given to those who offer innovative solutions to challenges that the company faces. This includes, and almost certainly will involve, international opportunities. The partners are also very involved in what happens at the company on many levels - so direct interaction with the most senior management is not uncommon. For those interested in the challenge, FXCM is a great place to work.

ConsHigh turnover and lack of stability. Because the company is so entrepreneurial, things are constantly changing. While this can be exciting it at times, it also leads to frustrations and disappointments.

Advice to Senior ManagementConstant changes and surprises may be good for the bottom line, but it's eating away at the human resources that make these goals come to fruition. Effective project planning, better training, and compensation that's more in line with comparable roles in the industry are all important for recruiting talent and keeping resources from flocking away.

ProsIt was a great interview. An individual from HR went ahead and asked standard fit questions and then handed a document reading today's market news and your told to read it. Afterwards, the hiring manager came in and asked questions scanning over your resume and then asks basic market questions. Just brush up on the economy particularly the FX market and as long as you can articulate well, you'll be fine.

The job was great and gives a strong foundation in market analysis. You also get very good on the phone. The other works are great and enjoy spending time together outside of work. We went to a Rangers Baseball game once which was alot of fun.

ConsSometimes, management may get too busy, and you may be stuck by yourself, but everyone was very accommodating and willing to help.

ProsThey teach you so much about the markets. I have been here not that long and I feel I learned more than most people know. By knowing the FX market you gain knowledge in most aspects.

ConsThe pay isn't as good as I'd like it to be.

Big fish in a small pond

Managing Director (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsThe company values competent and self-driven employees looking for career growth. It is a fast-growing medium-sized firm with plenty of opportunities to grow. I have seen many talented individuals move up the ranks quickly and they strive to make the company a great place to work in. High level projects are often given to people who deserve the opportunity. Global offices also give some employees the opportunity to travel overseas. Management has open door policy.

ConsIf an employee lacks loyalty, the company tends to reciprocate. The salary and compensation has room for improvement, although the overall benefits package is quite good. Certain processes are still informal.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to keep an open mind and ask for feedback from staff members.

ProsGood training program, friendly coworkers, and management has an open-door policy. Management understands that there can be a steep learning at first.

ConsThe micromanagement. Management wants to know everything that you are doing, all of the time. While this can be a good thing, I will like to have a little less supervision at time.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMgmt is flexible about requests for time off if needed with consideration for urgent requests
    Learning opportunities

ConsBusiness needs may dictate a move within a department or to a different department selected by management, not the employee

Advice to Senior ManagementAs in any evolving market, it is important to continue to communicate upcoming changes and direction to the general staff.
