    Pros

Facebook truly values the important things in life (to me, at least).

    - The culture and dialog is open about everything. Whether it's with your manager, on your team or concerning a company wide issue.
    - The amount of power entrusted to employees is huge. You are empowered to go explore and find data, build things, and generally chose the course of action you think will have the most impact.
    - Managers force you to go home if you're not feeling well. Miss your kid's all star game to stay at work and you'll get weird looks. Perform your core function well and you have so much leeway in how you spend your time - (how it should be, right?)
    - The food is so good.

    Cons

    - Sometimes it's momentarily discouraging surrounded by such smart, driven, all-around awesome people. And it can be harder to stand out for excellence (despite internal commitment to acknowledging successes in public and private).
    - On occasion the community can be overly sensitive

    Advice to Management

    - Focus on being transparent with users
    - Simplicity should be a major pillar of the vast majority of new products
    - Keep the user first in all decisions

    Pros

Innovative, hard-working, fast paced, friendly, fun, challenging work environment

    Cons

Depending on department, there are a lot of cliques. Being close friends with employees in the company is definitely a huge plus to advance in the company.

    Advice to Management

Remain subjective. Put aside friendships when evaluating people.

    Pros

The learning opportunity at Facebook is huge. You have so many resources available to you. For new grads, you have the opportunity to treat Facebook like a pseudo-grad-school. The people are awesome and the perks make you comfortable.

    Cons

Salaries are low. People are mainly driven by passion here, but once they reach a certain skill level they leave.

    Advice to Management

More incentive to keep people around would be good.

Not a place if your ever down, or suffer with mental health. You gotta be 100% positive or they'll get rid of you or simply say, you're not ready for the next level.

    Pros

Free food, travel and laptop... People are nice but people managers have to be rootless.

    Cons

People managers don't care if your suffering with being down, if this is effecting your performance Facebook isn't the place for you. They'll push you out and won't care to listen to you.

    Advice to Management

    Be more HUMAN

    Cons

None. Because I can't find any place work better than here. this is why it is voted as the best place to work.

    Pros

-The diversity of the people (we have people coming from all over the world and it really helps knowing how to work with different backgrounds)
    -The culture
    -The Food

    Cons

-So many things to focus on, can get you lost
-Career opportunities inside and outside of Facebook (unless you're in Eng)

    Advice to Management

Focus on Career within the company, hiring from outside of the company is killing it. We like our employees but don't focus much on building their own careers which is one of the reasons we don't have a very strong TAT in some departments.

    Pros

    - You get to work on pretty much whatever you suggest
    - Good benefits

    Cons

    - Because people get to work on whatever they feel like there are a lot of resources that are wasted
    - There is a lot of core work. Eg. You have to get through x amounts of requests from users per days

    Advice to Management

There does not seem to be any plan as to where or how anybody can make a career on Facebook, in particular in User Operations in Dublin as the management team seems to not have put much thought into career development.
