    Best Software Engineering Company

    Software Engineer Intern (Current Employee)
    Norwalk, CT

ProsExtremely nice people, very knowledgable team of guys that are always willing to help you learn and achieve more; great free lunches Monday-Thursday; relaxed environment; feasible deadlines. There are numerous different areas to work under so that one may become familiar with many diverse technologies.

ConsThe company is relatively new and therefore it is smaller than competitors like Bloomberg, so sometimes it may feel a little too casual... but this is a plus for me.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf possible, try to train more specifics of certain jobs - that being said, you guys do a great job of holding learning sessions for specific lanugages, libraries, and frameworks!

My internship at FactSet was fun, engaging, and incredibly collaborative.

    Financial Consultant (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsFactSet is a great place to work because the company prides itself on the happiness of its employees. The upper-level management at the firm is friendly, supportive, and treats each individual (even the interns) as equals. I felt that my opinions and contributions were valued highly, which is rare to find in an internship with a financial firm.

ConsI dont necessarily feel that people at FactSet are very driven. It's a great firm and a fun place to work, but I didn't see much of a focus on professional development and growth on an individual basis.

A good place to work, but need to beef up its appeal

    Lead Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Norwalk, CT

ProsWork life balance. Friendly people. Ample physical cube/office space.

ConsCompensation could be more competitive, and tilted more to reward performance.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to create an environment that appeals to ambitious and aspiring technologist -- be it more drastic higher pay for high performance , more freedom in adventuring new technology, or other means.

As a tech company, it got to strive hard to avoid becoming appealing to the mediocre B-performers but boring the A-performers.
