I have been working at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Management works together, and employees appear mostly satisfied with their jobs. Nice place visually to work at. Guests are usually better behaved than at lesser hotels.

    Cons

Managers don't ask employees for their input when it comes to workplace incidents, workplace operations, and incidents involving other security incidents.

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

There are a lot of pros for working in hospitality. There is always room for growth due to the various departments, travel is easy and you get to meet people from all over the world.

    Cons

Communication lagged a bit. There were times that a situation could have been prevented if there was communication between all departments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your employees know what is going on

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Always greeted by other employees with a smile, although most do not know I was working as an intern. I got to explore different departments, which was helpful than staying in just one. I got to go to meetings and learned what to expect in employee meetings.

    Cons

The meetings was helpful the first time, but I feel like sometime they forgot to plan something for the interns, so they just put us in the meeting and listen.

    Great Opportunities when applicable

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

Fairmont is an under rated gem as their service philosophy is to do right by their guests. Your idea of what may be best for that guest based on your interactions is received and welcomed. A good place for growth if you are vocal and desire to learn. Small team makes it easy to reach out by department or property

    Cons

Being empowered is good for those that would use it. This idea allows colleagues to do what is right for your guest but sometimes falls short of expectancy as well as a variation in service provided.

    Pros

Growing company - the company is still building new properties and acquiring hotels

    Cons

Lack of office culture due to everybody being so busy all the time, no motivation to have friends in the office because everybody is always working, I have no friends in the office

    Pros

    Cons

Very corporate and there can be poor communication downward. Poor food, typical EDR fare. Very little flexibility in terms of scheduling, and you better not be late.
