    Pros

No hoity or pretentious buyers here. Everyone is focused on driving margin and sales here. Very collaborative environment, solid company invested and interested in the customer.

    Cons

Lots of uneasiness about dollar tree merger. Some people can be really rigid about processes. Otb process needs more structure.

    Advice to Management

Keep driving change in all areas as the face of retail is changing

    Pros

$8 an hour pay. Friendly customers (sometimes)

    Cons

Part time is a waste of energy. They just throw you out there without training. Supervisors can be rude.

    Advice to Management

Train your team better from Hiring Manager down to CSR

    Pros

The pay in the office is good.
The hours available work, at least for me.

    Cons

The company vibe is not family oriented.
My department is awful at knowing what benefits the company versus what benefits themselves.
Too much company waste as far as managers who don't know what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Treat people the way you wanted to be treated and stop talking about people behind their backs.

    Pros

    Great pay
    Offers benefits
    Team work
If you have s bad experience at family dollar, it is the team around you. Retail in general is on the boarder of work life balance. At family dollar you can start at the bottom and work your way up. Great pay.

    Cons

    Micro managed
New initiative for no turn over actually causes hostility.

    Advice to Management

    Let managers manage.

    Pros

Technology from iPad, fellow DMs and store teams.

    Cons

Forcing store teams to have single coverage to as late as five pm. Excessive tasks for payroll as low as $1,430 weekly to include SM. Leaving on average less then $700 for two FT ASMs and two PT cashiers. Many hard working teams wanting to succeed within a company that will push you for the results they want no matter what cost to you.
Company turns on average 50% of DM annually and 200% for SMs and 360% for csrs

    Advice to Management

You state wanting to be a blue company but your actions show deep red

    Pros

Customers and community give direct feedback. They love when you do a good job running the business. No lines, clean atmosphere, always sto cked

    Cons

No discount. High theft, you become aware of too many people trying to get over. Too many to list. High expectations/Low Rewards! I began too wonder of hard work with this company will ever pay off.

    Advice to Management

Stay ahead of project manager. Always coach and or give recognition when needed.
