I worked at FedEx part-time for less than a year

    Pros

This is a good fast pace working environment with decent pay for the position. I enjoyed working with other handlers

    Cons

The pay is good but they rush you out so fast to avoid paying you as much. You would be lucky if you could afford to pay the electric bill every month as package handler.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at FedEx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good pay, meeting interesting people.

    Cons

Delivery drivers seems to e the only ones who are held accountable for doing their job. The freight drivers that travel between statio can show up as they well please, which cause us to be dispatched late( sometimes as late as 10 oclock). Station manergers and their sidepieces (women) are not in anything but their bounuses. And working for a contractor sometimes means lack of flexability to take time off in an emergency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the district/area managers, get off your and light a fire under the frieght drivers who feel that they can arrive when it pleases them. And to station management, put employees on the belt who know what the hell they are doing. And start putting people over packages.

I have been working at FedEx full-time

    Pros

It is like a management boot camp! Very educational experience. After doing this type of management, you can do anything. However, you don't want to stay in a boot camp the rest of your life.

    Cons

    Everything else.
    -low pay
    -poor work life balance
    -incompetent senior management
-All responsibility is put on the lowest level of management
    -no growth
-a very strong "who you know" culture and not what have you done!

I have been working at FedEx part-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's an easy job to get. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time, the job is yours.Thats about the only good thing I can say.

    Cons

packages of all shapes and sizes coming at you a million miles a minute, managers barking at you like a drill sergeant that you're not moving fast enough, you will leave work completely drained of energy, very high potential for serious injury. In fact, when I started, everyone I talked to said they suffered an injury and they told me it's inevitable. One guy got heat exhaustion, another said he suffered a concussion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

pay more for the hazards workers are exposed to

I have been working at FedEx full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Easy job, they don't ask much from you in Express and Services divisions. Ground is very demanding

    Cons

In Express, there is no incentive to perform well. The company wants to shrink to keep costs down- to a point where service levels are at all time lows. There is no room for advancement as well as no job security in Express. Services is a great place for staff and Ground is where you want to be for advancement and reward.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Freezing pay and bonus to cut costs and prop up the stock is short term thinking and will fail in the longer term. If the stock price is the company goal, eliminate bonus and AIC and give people stock or options. (DRIPS?) Move more staff functions in Express to Services to share skills ( Properties for example)

I have been working at FedEx full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Learn many things, fast paced environment

    Cons

Has continually went down in having a professional management team. Now is more centered on bully management. All bonuses are gone. Have many incentive program pools but all tied into sales that are split among coworkers that may average around $10 a month if even that.
