    lower management

Operations Manager (Current Employee) Sacramento, CA

ProsIt is like a management boot camp! Very educational experience. After doing this type of management, you can do anything. However, you don't want to stay in a boot camp the rest of your life.

    ConsEverything else.
    -low pay
    -poor work life balance
    -incompetent senior management
-All responsibility is put on the lowest level of management
    -no growth
-a very strong "who you know" culture and not what have you done!

    Don't take a job here

Package Handler Part-time (Current Employee) Saint Paul, MN

ProsIt's an easy job to get. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time, the job is yours.Thats about the only good thing I can say.

Conspackages of all shapes and sizes coming at you a million miles a minute, managers barking at you like a drill sergeant that you're not moving fast enough, you will leave work completely drained of energy, very high potential for serious injury. In fact, when I started, everyone I talked to said they suffered an injury and they told me it's inevitable. One guy got heat exhaustion, another said he suffered a concussion.

Stay away from the Express Division

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsEasy job, they don't ask much from you in Express and Services divisions. Ground is very demanding

ConsIn Express, there is no incentive to perform well. The company wants to shrink to keep costs down- to a point where service levels are at all time lows. There is no room for advancement as well as no job security in Express. Services is a great place for staff and Ground is where you want to be for advancement and reward.

Advice to Senior ManagementFreezing pay and bonus to cut costs and prop up the stock is short term thinking and will fail in the longer term. If the stock price is the company goal, eliminate bonus and AIC and give people stock or options. (DRIPS?) Move more staff functions in Express to Services to share skills ( Properties for example)

    Not employee oriented

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsLearn many things, fast paced environment

ConsHas continually went down in having a professional management team. Now is more centered on bully management. All bonuses are gone. Have many incentive program pools but all tied into sales that are split among coworkers that may average around $10 a month if even that.

Horrible!! DO NOT work here whatsoever

Senior Programmer Analyst (Former Employee) Memphis, TN

ProsA bit more relaxed work environment when compared to financial institution

ConsThey treat consultants like a piece of shiz. Due to their stupid data security rules, remote access is banned which makes it tough to handle night time prod tickets if you have to be in office in person at 1 AM midnight.
They have the best IT tools, but don't really know/have the talent to use it upto even a 10%. They hire a lot of consultants with a fixed 11 month term and when these consultants leave, there is enough brain drain to destroy some key knowledge base. There is hatred and repulsion towards consultants and they are always thought of by FT employees as those who are just destroying their beautifully built mansion (code) and treat consultants like outsiders in all aspects. If they don't like any consultant ( or if there is a Budget cut) they come up with excuses all of a sudden to show that a Consultants quality of work is not good and will be let go without even a day's notice. Very ruthless and disrespectful treatment of consultants.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsultants are NOT aliens who join your company to destroy your beautiful world! Give the professionals the respect that they at-least deserve! At the very least have some visibility in terms of technical issues faced due to restriction of accesses to systems and data. You cannot expect competent work quality if you are not giving proper facilities and accesses.

Not as good of a company as everyone may think.

Center Consultant (Current Employee) Orlando, FL

ProsOpportunity to learn a lot about printing and shipping.

ConsPromotions(they rarely promote within the company, if you are lucky enough to do so, it takes a loooong time, and barely a raise), raises suck, no company perks besides 75% off Express shipments, if you are "full time" you will be given about 30 hours(don't expect 40), the training SUCKS terribly...be prepared to learn EVERYTHING on your own as it happens.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvice to Management would be to be sure you have selected trainers, they do their job CORRECTLY, and the new employers are trained appropriately.

    14 hours a day

    Operations Manager (Former Employee)

ProsGood pay, good benefits and good people to work with.

ConsLong work days, managment not engaged with employees needs. Leadership team members are treated as second class citizens. Managment did not have a good grasp on daily operations.

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople work for a living not live for working. Treat your leaders well and the benefits will be seen through out the operation.

    The worst.

Package Handler (Current Employee) Keasbey, NJ

ProsYou get an extremely good workout and in the summer you sweat out about 2 pounds a day.

ConsExtremely hard labor. Takes a huge physical toll on your body.
