    I worked at FedEx full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good pay, tuition reimbursement, benefits, upward mobility, diverse, relocation all over the world, culture, fast-paced, high quality service, proud to work for

    Cons

    Industry by definition warrants a lot of micromanagement, always more with less, work/life balance, traditional management not interested in changes/new ideas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Old way of doing things is going away with younger folks coming aboard (and leaving)--evolve or become UPS.

    Pros

    Raises every 3 months
    Health benefits
    Great pay

    I have been working at FedEx full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    * Work life balance
    * Competitive Salary in Memphis based on cost of living (not so much elsewhere)
    * Good perks especially the 5% of salary pension match

    Cons

    * Wide Career bands (i.e. your pay can increase significantly from one end of a job band to the other end, but the title may not change)
    * Limited career growth
    * Salary outside of Memphis is not competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide career growth opportunities. Revise pay bands to move the upper end higher.

    I worked at FedEx full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Respect for employees, internal grievance process, good benefits, promote from within, financially sound, top executives, great chairman

    Cons

    Pressure from Wall Street is reflecting on People Service Profit culture. Bad apples are hard to let go. HR processes can be convoluted. Career progression has been limited. Top professionals are leaving quickly. Memphis is not the most appealing city

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at FedEx full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good company, solid, dynamic industry. Company loves technology and so did I.

    Cons

    Could get lost in the scale of operation, becoming a "cog" in the wheel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Some mangers were quite good while others were empire builders. Front line mgmt seems disconnected from executive management.
