    Pros

If you are happy with your current salary and position you will always have a job.

    Cons

No clear career path for people wanting to move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time training your employees on how to sell, not how to take orders.

    Pros

They have a great training program and a great distribution network.

    Cons

This company expects 55+ hr week and likes to pay for a 35 hr. I also saw little long term growth potential.

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, fun and laid back atmosphere, great co-workers, yearly raises can be very nice, training program is challenging but well worth the skills you obtain.

    Cons

Ferguson promotes a work life balance but then requires a 50 hour work week with monthly Saturday work and inventory weekends twice a year. Also, depending on the branch, it can be difficult (as a woman) working with so many men in such a manly industry (comments, sexism). Promotions and advancement takes a lot of time for the majority of people. Yearly raises are so low it doesn't make a difference.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't overlook at your valuable employees that are deserving of a promotion. There are too many favorites with senior management and it reminded me too much of high school. If you weren't in the cool club good luck with trying to advance in your career here.

    Pros

Earning potential can be great when the market is hot.

    Cons

Earning potential can be poor when the market is down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to increase base salary and lower commissions to retain employees over the long term.

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Ferguson as a company is fantastic. Very supportive of it's employees, great benefits and lots of employee engagement. The company tries hard to make sure employees have a good work/home balance.
They offer lots of opportunity for professional development within the organization and genuinely care about their employees.

    Cons

Management seems to reward those who find ways to do less while holding back those that work hardest. There is a lot of talk about improving but never any action.
A lot of politics goes on and it can be frustrating for someone who genuinely cares about the company and it's future. There is a lot of taking credit for other people's work and keeping the little guy down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the majority of the management staff, including the executives, could really benefit from some management training. Pay more attention to and reward those employees who are actually producing results.

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice starting pay for entry-level, OK working environment. Management interested in on-the-job training, then slowly backed off if any questions came up with product development.

    Cons

Long hours from employees, 50+ a week. Did not see much interest from management after initial training period. Bonuses were okay in relation to health insurance, but that was about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with an employee whom might be struggling with real-life issues, such as emergency health issues.
