ProsDress code is very fair . Jeans and shirt. Just no flip flops and holes in the jeans

ConsNo Flex in Schedule . Benefits are not very good. Pay Scale is low.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave a better open door policy. Higher management is not friendly. HR does not answer Questions ? They say you must go to your direct supervisor. Then when you do that they guess at the answer ????

    I was a former employee

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood benefits, competitive income, 401 k program and a company contribution through employee stocks. The blue collar employees are the ones who make the Ferrell gas.

ConsTraining is granted for the "yes people " and the ones who need it most and live for their job do not receive enough training. Upper management criticizes the lower management with very seldom praise if any at all. There're good at preaching numbers and adding more to the lower management so they can burn them out and just wash their hands from removing great people from all that they have. "Employment"

Advice to Senior ManagementTake care of your employees and listen to them when they need support. Give praise when when needed. Stop being degrading and and only care about yourself and preach being a leader. Because upper management need to be great leaders before their lower management roles will lead and not just manage. Be truthful and man up when you do wrong and not allows point fingers to absorb your faults and mistakes.

Loved the customers, loved the coworkers, wouldn't spit on management if they were ablaze.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSupportive co workers. You develop one on one relationships with your customers

ConsBoss was dishonest. Made it sound like other employees were complaining in order to make you do more than you were legally allowed to do. Constant demand for 60 hours of work to be done in 40 hours. Better not get overtime, but you'd better finish it all... oh, here's another 5 stops to fit in the day.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't lie to your employees, they do talk to each other

Enlightening but yet what an experience.

    Customer Service Specialist (Current Employee)
    Santa Fe, NM

Pros401k investment opportunity, Employee stock, medical insurance coverage for full time employees, Propane & appliance discounts, payed uniform allotment of $125.00 annually and depending on how the company is doing that year a free turkey & ham for Thanksgiving & Christmas.

ConsBeing monitored digitaly on phone call times and standby times. CSS 's are given an estimate of 4 minutes per call & are monitored constantly on case loads, Web activity is logged in the background as any other large company.
CSS pay is inconsistent from service center to service center with some well experienced CSS' s being there for several plus years making around $11.00 an hour compared to an alternate location 60 miles away paying new hires almost $14 plus an hour. Company wide there was finally a 3% raise given after 5 plus years this does not quite make up for the increase of cost of living.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop micro managing... Offer better incentives to bring up productivity! Remember you can always catch me Flys with honey then vinegar.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Inept leadership by CEO Steve Wambold ... out of ideas other than cutting employees.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Overland Park, KS

ProsThe employees and middle management are great to work with and with new CEO leadership who will have some innovative ideas, this company could be a better success. Employees here will always help each other, unfortunately this does not continue to the top. The company has invested in infrastructure in the past which has modernized the company to a degree.

ConsThe lack of authentic leadership is destroying any type of motivation and camaraderie that existed. The laying off of employees to show positive results to stockholders has destroyed a trusted work environment. The attitudes toward diversity when it comes to minorities is not progressing. The lack of transparency has employees not trusting their leadership. Promoting from a 'good old boy' concept is not making us a smarter company.

Advice to Senior ManagementNew CEO; More innovation; Create Diversity; Create positive partnerships.

    Minority under the microscope.

    Corporate Operations Accountant (Former Employee)
    Liberty, MO

ProsProfit sharing - in that you'll be fully divested within 7 years
Good benefits - except that they are currently increasing costs to cushion the blow they think they'll take with the new health care laws.

ConsManagement's inability to convey the true direction of the company.
Playing field is definitely not level.
Minorities are judged on a much stricter level than everyone else. Note that there are NO upper-level minorities within FG... at least last I checked.

Advice to Senior ManagementInclude staff - let them know the big picture and how they are a part of it.
Promote based on experience, performance, and level of aptitude.
