I worked at Ferris State University full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The work environment allows for flexibility when needing time off.
    Amazing benefits if full time.
Knowledgable colleagues and awesome student staff.

    Cons

Ferris is way too political. Some people are doing the bare minimum in their roles and are getting praised, receiving promotions, and getting support, while others are working their butts off, but receive no recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the favoritism!!! Be open to new ideas. Provide adequate support when someone is working the job of 2+ people.

I have been working at Ferris State University

    Pros

Great hours, and lots of vacation. Great people to talk to and very easy to get settled in at your position

    Cons

Low pay, lots of inter department drama and mass confusion. Plenty of crazy budget cuts along with many people looking to point fingers for it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make management salary higher while scanning employees better to have better workers. Adjust budget to compensate for athletic teams and funding
